kkdas, 22 Mar 2018No notch please! Don't want a mindless iphone copy. Having the status bar in the upper bezel is copying apple in the same way including a battery in your phone is copying samsung and having a camera in your phone is copying HTC and having a screen on your phone is copying sony.
Notch is a technology to create more screen by using dead space on the upper bezel for the status bar. It is not a copy. It is not following. It's a good feature.

No notch please! Don't want a mindless iphone copy.

The infamous notch eats from the screen from most of the phones that have 16:9 or 18:9 body ratio. But if it's a 19:9 screen, paired with white notifications on a black bar on that top screen parts i think it can be ok.
The idea is not so bad (to have more screen available), the actual way of implementing (eating from screen ratio) is bad and eye souring.
Anyway, it's clear that the phone will look (again) like OPPO already leaked photos.
I'm seriously thinking about getting one, after all, I have to retire my 4 years old OnePlus One. By the way, it still works flawlessly, despite the fact that battery don't perform as good as it did with the super optimized 4.4.4 version. I was a big fan of HTC (had only flagships, starting with HTC Tytn II and ending with M7), but I can honestly say that OPO was the best quality/price phone that I ever had and it solved the only complain that I had about HTC - battery life. (never owned an iPhone or Samsung smartphone, never felt the need to have one).

Anonym, 08 Mar 2018Given that most content is still 16:9, what does this hide ... moreMost new Netflix shows are shot in this aspect ratio 2.00:1 (18:9) and several big blockbuster movies have adapted to this format as well. It makes sense from their pov as with this aspect ratio you no longer need to worry about different aspect ratios and framing the same composition.

A... moreGiven that most content is still 16:9, what does this hide (while playing back content) that you couldn't already do in 18:9? Nothing, you could've always "blacked-out the notch" by playing the content in it's native proportions... but users clearly don't want to go that way.

JackTheIPhoneKiller, 08 Mar 2018Thanks God, I didn't wait for any other flagship of 2018. J... moreIt's actually a pretty decent phone. It's a fast flagship and does stuff nicely. Nokia's Android version is good, pair that with the frequent updates (for now). Only disappointing thing is the software of the back camera because it's hardware is actually good. Front camera (selfie) is really good. A good phone but many people criticized it for having super big bezels, and spoke like it was going to kill them or it was going to be the end of the life.
