I love all the times Xiaomi puts out a device and the west explodes into a flurry of angry sinophobes and happy Mi users. Now that war extends to include the notch even though like most of the happy Mi users have already said this version of the notch is probably the best you'll ever get until somebody finds some way for the camera to be on the front of the phone and still the phone is 100% screen. Until that can even possibly happen (pocket dimension selfie cam?) this design is by far the best ever.

... moreI judge people who prefer looks over function. Yeah a bezel look cleaner but it is axtually very dumb. Like a dumb blond in old american movies. It looks cool for a while but then you get bored of her and you argue all the time. That is how I see bezels, I always curse my phone for having a bezel, it restricts me, my screen is far smaller than it had to be.
I would had thrown it away and buy iphone x but I am not giving $1000+ for a phone no way. It's silly. So I wait for android makers to finally kill the bezel, but now they all add bottom bezel. It's a sin!

Well, okay it is definitely better completely without a notch, but at least its not so bad/ horrible. I mean not as intrusive/ugly as of the Essential phone & even much, much worse of the iPhone (X) and all its other ridiculous copies. So although the best is obviously without any kind of notch, but AT LEAST small and cornered top right, it's not as bad (compared!).

my opinion is that screen should not be touched, it must stay pure rectangle, only 4 angles. golden rule, do not touch/change the screen shape! all these nothces are destroying nice design. nothces are invented only and only because of technology limitation. this will be gone in a few years but now all designers are embracing this like rescue from Heaven but its wrong..... very wrong.... 2018 will be known as "notch year"...
