Mirkran, 08 Mar 2018If it's using an old chipset, it will probably be cheap. Us... moreWhat compromises are you referring to? For the price at which RN5 Pro is being sold, it has great chipset (SD 636 actually shares most of the components with SD660 except the GPU) has a big battery, more than capable cameras for its price range, SD card slot, 6GB ram, trustworthy 3.5mm jack, IR blaster, what else do you need?
Um, you can record 4K using OpenCamera for example, and it will be added in upcoming updates surely, they are probably adjusting it to take advantage of the new SoC.
And last but not least, I should mention the XDA support for Xiaomi and ZTE (or the difference). :)

why old 625? again!!! it should be at least newer snap 630 or 636! 625 is already old crap!

Anonymous, 08 Mar 2018Snapdragon 625 is old and has been used for almost 2 years.... moreIf it's using an old chipset, it will probably be cheap. Using a SD630, for example, would make its price rise. On the other hand, buying a Xiaomi, however cheap, means you have to deal with a few compromises, for example, lack of 4K in the Redmi Note 5 Pro.

Don't know how much they will price this, but if ZTE pushes for all their future phones to have stock android. This will would interest me for sure.

Snapdragon 625 is old and has been used for almost 2 years. That is a disappointment. This phone is probably going to cost more than the Mi Max 2. Better wait for Redmi Note 5 Pro, it will be superior in every aspect.

Now that battery is flagship level. I wish the old guard, Samsung, HTC, LG, Sony could look at thatvspec.
