Samsung managed to pack a lot of highlights in 45 second clips - about the camera, but other S9 features as well.

So mostly yes. I agree. These features if not aimed at children are utterly garbage. But if you need to find a quick feature to entertain children without drilling inside the Google play store it's actually cool. (I got the 5.8 variant. As a post note 8 user I didn't really find any use for the second camera. So I didn't feel any miss from the lack of 2 cameras)

I have the S9. And I don't mind these limotation.
But if it bothers you. Let me tell you why 4k@60fps is limited to 5 minutes. Though not rapid. The device does heat up a bit when using that feature (from 28°C/82°F to about 31°C/87°F)
And let me tell you another thing. Any chipset would heat up when using such an intensive task.

No thanks... If I pay a good money for a device, I have the right to record as long as I need or want to.

There we go! Advertising the so-called great rear camera (no phone camera from the modern flagships is actually great, hardware-wise they are actually almost all the same, the software is just different, true they have features, but you want a camera? Buy a real camera from a company like Canon for example.) and the front one with some Emoji and all modern unnecessary stuff or whatever BS they put there for who knows what dumb apps like Snapchat or some other totally unnecessary app. Invest more in useful features like better quality (photo wise for example) than some little emoticons and some unnecessary features. If you want to advertise your camera and impress with a camera, do something similar that Nokia did back in time with the 808 Pureview and Lumia 1020. These cameras were quite advanced for their time (if we are speaking about phone cameras) and their software was good.

AR and emoji BS, really should not be advertised as it does nothing useful

AnonD-92238, 09 Mar 2018People who think they are above average, are actually average.Sorry you misunderstood my comment I was not insulting the buyers but the smartphone OEM population,my point is that the OEM should provide features that the original supporters want and not this crap for kids.
The craze for these emoji, background blurr, etc will wane and so will the kids who liked it.

Emojis, background blur, etc all features mostly used by teenage girls and teenage girl wannabes.
Sums up the intellect of the general population.
