MarcioR, 14 Mar 2018Too bad, it could improve modems of all the snapdragon chips...QC is the uncontested leader in mobile device modem... broadcom is not.

Anonymous, 15 Mar 2018Lol yet it's making more money than Qualcomm? Care to explain?

I searched for keywords and none say that AVGO is making more money than QCOM. Broadcom may have made the BCM93452HMZ and BCM2836, but QCOM makes SoCs for nearly all smartphones not Apple, along with the radio in almost all phones.

Anonymous, 14 Mar 2018Finally the US office gets involved with these oversea buyo... moreTrumps mind is Binary Zero and one. The reason given is a stupid one

First Broadcom spending $120 Bn, in order NOT to innovate it would have to generate more than the $120 Bn elsewhere this makes no sense

Samsung generates $12 per quarter it would take Samsung years to recoup $120 Bn, the idea that Broadcom would somehow slowdown sales or give the opposite the edge by not producing state of the art modems is to allow the competition to pass Qualcomm again is a no brainer

You spend $120 Bn with a long term plan to get the money back asap

It felt like Broadcom was a bully by telling Qualcomm, "take this money and hand over your company or we'll take it without giving you anything rather you like it or not".

If China government orders Apple and Google to move all their servers inside the Chinese firewalls, US President is going to play hardball on such strategic acquisitions!

Good news. Qualcomm is too good and innovative to be someone's subsidiary.

Good. Unlike HTC or even 20th century fox, Qualcomm is actually making good. No reason for consumers for another conglomerate to buy it then.
