The notch is okay if the overall usable screen size is large. The thing with the iPhone's notch is that the usable screen space is much smaller than the perceived screen size.

If Samsung start to do notch things, then we can see apps correctly adopted for notch in Android platform.
This is because, iOS developers know that the only handset to deal with is iPhone. If they optimize their app for notch, there is 1/3 of available new iPhones to benefit.
In Android ecosystem, things are different. How many handsets can benefit from this optimization?
even if those 50 companies from well-known to unknown start to make notch phones, are they follow any standard?
Samsung sells Android flagships very well. and developers following Samsung's chosen style. because they want to earn more money and from Chinese exclusive or budget category, money never come out.
Huawei previous phones and all available apps prior to notch trend, were optimized for regular shaped handsets. So, "not a chance for development optimization"
Android apps will waste either some display space, in order to trim it as regular handset's display is, or sell (not ship) total of 1 million clueless phones.
If a Parrot flied away from 50th floor window, an Elephant must not.
If the feature has "any" benefit which forced companies to join the bandwagon, Instead of copying blindly, prepare some standards in order not to see Big.LITTLE notch above the phones.
This notch is like old-fashioned Men's hairstyle in front of their forehead.

Why everybody copy of IPHONE design. only samsung dnt copy other phone but other every body copy of i phone. i dnt know what OPPO VIVO MI. engineer do in the lab. i think these are all loose money to give his copy cat engineer. hahahahahahahahahhaha If im the CEO of the vivo oppo mi than i saw the next way to this type of engineer.

it is a good kind of notch sens you can turn it off (and the extra 180 unused pixel lines from the 18:9 display) when not using them thinks to the AMOLED screen
but there costumer service marketing team is BULLS*** do you know what is your customers want in there phones ?.... no wait do you know how many people HATE the notch ?

But these Android OEM, they just do it because Apple do it, no 3D sensor stuff. They think that people will buy their phone because it's like the X. So they just the imitators
Pls OEM, we just buy the X because it's just an iPhone with iOS, not a crap phone with a low price/performance/microUSB-in-2018 notch phone
