        Some bezel is needed to grip the phone and also add protection should it fall.

        If you look at the Huawei Mate 10, it is near bezelless and 16:9, looks fantastic. Almost 82% screen to body ratio, not far from iphone X yet it is 16:9, we need more like this!

          If we went bezelless And 16:9 as many people are wishing. The device might look awkward, or unnatural.

Cropping distorts the image and worsens quality. You are not using the full screen of the phone. Having the notch makes it even worse! Go check out a regular 16:9 video on an iphone X and see how $hit it looks. From far looks like it has massive bezels due to the notch and 18:9 screen.

              We are not yet ready for 18:9 content as it barely exists...

That's why I mentioned "Battery life is Fine" (As in the slang "fine", not exactly good but a fair deal) because most of the chipsets are power hungry compared to their counterparts. the X30 is a little better, but still relatively power hungry. (it's 10 cores set, 2xA73, 4xA53 and 4xA35)

                      (and I use a slightly taller aspect ratio: the S9/5.8/128GB)

                              Smartphon, 22 Mar 2018I don't like mediatek SoCsI've been fiddling with some Mediatek phones. (My fiancee sometimes asks from me such things, He's not as techie as me ^^;) the preformance is Okay, Graphics is Ew and the battery life is fine. it's just under the par of other phones. that's all.
                              I'll explain what I mean.
                              Mediatek uses pure cores, the architectures of Cortex AX cores as they are, no modification, no tweaking. pure as-is cores. with Mali cores sets of max 4 cores. even the X30 uses a 4 tier set. (the PowerVR XTP7400MT4)
                              Due to the fact the cores are untweaked, you don't get much power from these platforms. and Mediatek loves using power efficiency cores. (Namely the A53) so technically.
                              the reason "you don't like Mediatek" is because it doesn't give the OOMPH you're expecting for. (yes. EVEN FOR THE DECA CORE set!)
                              It doesn't mean I am a mediatek Fangirl. I am not. and as developer their compilers are rather annoying comparing to other chip vendors. (EVEN KIRIN is more forgiving than Mediatek)
