Weekly poll: Which one excites you more - Huawei P20 Pro or Xiaomi Mi Mix 2s

25 March 2018
Both phones will be officially unveiled on March 27 and we thought it would be fun to pit them in a rumor-based fight.

Sort by:

P20 pro. Xiaomi is factory locked here :-/ not sim locked, but factory locked. So you need to buy a code from xiaomi if you want to reset or phone crashes.

There is nothing exciting about the Huawei P20.Literally those who voted for it never experienced a good flagship device or a limited in terms of country availability. The P20 Lite came recently in the tech store and i was able to use it.The UI is changed to worse looking one and it's more childish and more colorful. The themes are bad and none of them caught my eye. They are still using the same camera from p10 lite only with more filters. The camera is still blury with plenty of noise and poor low light performance. And again there is the overused 659 chipset.
P20 shouldn't be more different either. The large pixels doesn't mean their camera quality will improve much more than the p10 and there will be no OIS as usual. The notch is there as well which isn't annoying but it's pointless since many apps don't support it and will just reduce the screen to 16:9 aspect ratio.
The Mate 10,pro and lite were a major success everywhere in any country out there and brought tons of new changes to smartphone,Huawei and technology industry but sadly with the P20 it won't be the same.Unless Huawei makes some sort of a new chipset like Kirin 980 or 975 with benchmark scores to the level of SD 845 then they will be better.

As for the Mi Mix 2S the major thing that peeks my interest is the new SD 845 performance in terms of speed tests and the ram management which Xiaomi is very good at.Looks wise i am glad it doesn't have a notch.Camera an other segments won't be changed too drastically. Honestly, the SD 835 on all Xiaomi devices was proven to be amazing in all speed tests and consistency so the SD 845 will be great to see against Samsung S9,Huawei Mate 10 pro, IPhone X,Sony XZ2 and LG v30.

Really nice that you can buy premium brand phones, and not bragging about it. And, just because some of us doesn't like stupid knock offs, doesn't mean we moan. This actually is a place where all can say its opinion without being accused of moaning.

AnonD-733422, 25 Mar 2018Xiaomi for sure.It will be 50% lower price.Maybe in China and India....but with import taxes it could end up even more expensive than p20.
And that is, for more money you would have device without warranty...so, no thanks

Whackcar, 25 Mar 2018I agree partially. The design language of the P series has ... moreYeah you have no idea what you're talking about. Probably because you think the world revolves around you. Grow up please.

Mi mix 2s for sure if they manage to remove the bottom bezel. Nothing about huawei is interesting and with their hideous notch they're only proving they're nothing more than second rate copycats deeo in their core.

Also, emui is butt ugly. It manages to make flagships look cheap and cartoonish while miui is much more polished and refined (although it's not the best in either).

                  Is there a ‘none’ option?

-. -, 25 Mar 2018well, usually i will choose huawei between these two, but i... moreI agree partially. The design language of the P series has been "heavily-inspired" by other brands, but they've been decent phones still. The Mate series on the other hand has been phenomenal as of late, so that's something worth appreciating from Huawei.

As for pricing, I'd say you're better off buying a OnePlus phone instead of anything from Xiaomi. Your money will be well-spent that way. So in the end, there's really no reason to buy anyhing from Xiaomi.

I don't like a fact that P20 will come with same SoC as phone that is avaible 5 months already, but then again, nothing about Xiaomi excite me...
One more product without warranty and any service support ....and in case of software problems, you have to rely on good will of forum members, since Miui support is ....I'll be banned if I wrote about them.
Just like everyone who report a problem on Miui forum gets banned.

Anonymous, 25 Mar 2018Good joke. I suppose you haven't used Xiaomi yet, have you? Why would i buy mediocre phones from a shoddy brand when i can afford to buy premium phones? Xiaomi phones are only made for budget-conscious buyers, that is why they offer a inferior experience than premium brands.

To further prove my point. A Xiaomi phone has mediocre camera, no "smart" features, an ugly skin (UI), little to no brand appeal, and no exclusive features whatsoever. So yeah, not interested in buying it.

Really, 25 Mar 2018And Huawei knock off notch doesn't bother you? For me, ever... moreI dislike the notch too, but i have realized that it's quickly gaining popularity & will be seen on more & more upcoming phones, so i will learn to deal with it rather than moan about it (which won't change anything)...

Well,I'd go for Xiaomi..possibly Huawei will have a better camera, very close in everything else,Xiaomi will be slightly faster and smoother and few hundred euros cheaper...but at the end, according to those pics-way better looking.
