Comparing the sizes of flagship chipsets: Qualcomm, Samsung, Huawei and Apple

25 March 2018
All four chipsets are built on 10nm processes (though in different fabs). Which company spent more on a large chip?

Sort by:

Both the Snapdragon & Exynos chipsets are newer than the Kirin one. The next generation Kirin (on Mate 11/20) will be more powerful than these. Just saying.

When a GPU can no longer run a game, and another GPU a little faster will also be inefficient to play ...
      Example:
      Exynos: 12 FPS
      Adreno: 15.5 FPS (+ 30%)
There will be little difference, you can not play well in any ...

Anonymous, 23 Mar 2018So many Apple haters in denial even though A11 chip clearly... moreI don't hate them for the preformance (Although personally I want that power in my hand.) I hate them for the general usage, it's like golden cuffs.
And I am talking about myself. Others have their own reasons.

GPU performance also ages faster than CPU due to games becoming more and more demanding so I think snapdragon 845 is slightly more feature proof than Exynos .
If you have to choose, buy a snapdragon variant. You'll thank me later.

Apple only won in peak performance, a step in which Samsung also follows. In sustained performance (which you should consider if you play games in your phone), the SD 845 won hard. the Kirin 970 are somewhat in-between

The most eye opening thing about this is the size of those M3 cores. Holy moly! they are HUGE!
Shows the cost of increasing single-thread performance. One of those M3 cores takes the space of an entire octo-core A53 design.
