Samsung is very smart, it knows it has superior hardware compared to others, and not many customers think about software update before making decision to buy new phone, so it still saves huge money in software development.

While other brands are talking android 9, Samsung still dream about 8.0. Lol.

Why is it different than Canada? Here, when the S8 got Oreo last week, it was a simultaneous release to all models and all carriers, even unlocked (XAC).

Try 6 months and counting while many other devices from other manufacturers have long since been updated. LG, One Plus and Huawei are far better. I am guessing from your comment about no benefit you have never had the S8 or S8 Plus Oreo updates. I have had all the betas and am now finally on the full release version and I can assure you the phone was noticably faster and more responsive. To give you an idea of how far behind Samsung are they were still releasing brand new phones in 2018 (the A8+ for example) with 2017 software while the likes of Huawei and LG were selling their equivalent models with the latest Oreo software. I don't think it un-reasonable to expect a phone released 6 months after Oreo to come with it as standard rather than with Nougart and no definte upgrade date.

Poor soles, had this a couple of weeks ago on my S8+ and it has completely ruined my phone! its lagging really badly now to the point where its taking 10 to 15 seconds to load up a facebook message.
before any one blames it on the ram, I have 1.9gb free ram and clean the phone every day!

Yeah , people are correct - I am using note 8. I was not used to samsung lags (previously owned iPhone and other android). I have noticed lags here and there. like when trying to pull down from brightness control. Search in setting is worse. Looks like some fresher did that code. No indexing - so searching takes upto 1 min. try yourself

It takes them a little longer too update. But their software is already more advanced and ahead. And it takes more time and money to compete their updates. And they have more devices to do it for.
And they are putting a lot of effort into not having bug filled releases like the others.

There is more to life then being on the latest number. That's psychological. Nothing more.

Samsung allways strugle to update their phones. It doesnt matter flagship or midrange or budget. And this is from the top manufacter.1000 $ devices with slugish software support...shame
