To me, the original Mi Mix was a great phone and I had wanted the Mi Mix 2 to have AMOLED screen and waterproofing, and I was disappointed that Xiaomi was able to make such a great phone but not have those two features to compete against the other flagships, so in my opinion it was not a hit but it is a solid device nonetheless. About the front facing camera, I have no strong opinion on where it should be placed, but I'd want the cameras to have great performance.

The problem with these chinese phones is the government there is almost guaranteed to put backdoors and chips to copy your data in.

Why are people calling IPS LCD a downgrade. You realize those screens produce a cleaner and sharper image don't have burn in and are much reactive than OLEDs right? There's a video on youtube showing that the more sensitive Xiaomi LCD screens can even work through gloves. OLED cannot even sense fingers through gloves.

Also from the start of Mix it was always a niche product. An Amoled screen and puting the selfie camera at top won’t necessarily make it a hit as there are phones in the market that have all that and they are not a hit.

Why they all now use 18:9 narrow (yes narrow, not 'tall') screens ?!
l think because they believe the combination of minimum bazels plus narrow sceens allows phablet size phones to be used with only one hand and makes easier to stick them in pockets.
All this for the sake of sales figures but at the expense of the screen real estate available for enjoying games and videos properly.

I wish writers would stop using the obnoxious phrase: "all you need to know" - this is so in your face and arrogant. Why not say: "all we know" or "all there is to know so far". After all, most people don't really NEED to know anything about most things.

Once again, a great phone that its only flaw is it worth buying from the previous model? I must add, Xiaomi must not repeat the mistakes of its predecessor and should add AMOLED display and waterproofing, and not having these two elements in my opinion were what prevented the Mi Mix 2 from being a hit.

I really hope you're wrong about not having an OLED screen, as I was thinking of getting this to replace my Galaxy S6 Edge. I'm not going to downgrade to an LED screen.
