Xiaomi Mi Mix 2s is now official: Snapdragon 845 and a dual camera setup

27 March 2018
The new model has borrowed most of the design and hardware straight from the regular Mi Mix 2s, with a few notable changes.

A notch is just a part of the status bar it's really a complete non-event. Like Huawei, change the status bar to black if the notch offends you and it's gone. Big deal.

beautiful. extra bezel on the chin is a pleasing trade off for a notch-less display.

Its not a bad phone for the price in India or China. Way too expensive for other markets where you have to import it. That would bring the price close to the Samsung flagships, which it really isn't worth.

Here in India, it competes directly with the OnePlus 5t.
The only compelling reason to get the Mix over the 5t would be if you just got to have that screen design (which in my opinion is still the best in the market). Otherwise the 5t either matches or beats the Mix in every aspect.

I had purchased the Mix 2 because for me the only considerations were the screen design and the SD 835 chipset. Unfortunately, the 5t wasn't announced until 2 weeks after I had already purchased the Mix 2.
The cameras (both front and back) are the most disappointing aspects of the Mix 2. Other niggles you could live with just for that front face.
And the Mix 2s does not seem like a compelling upgrade from the Mix 2.

We need moduler or foldable phones now.
6" & 7" huge phones are difficult to handle.
            We need lence attachment, too.
            2x is not sufficient.

Sadly the majority this year. But we'll refuse them and give our money to those brands that still manufacture and design models without the stupid notch trend.

xiaomi does not use google apps so they aren't obliged to support trebble !

Disappointed. That Camera set-up made the whole thing looks cheap.
They should have release this as an ‘cheaper’ or more ‘affordable’ Mi Mix version
Then plan an another design for the real flagship Mi Mix.

The only salvageable thing is if this is a Treble device, otherwise no way I would even consider it without Android One or any flavor of AOSP. The fact the original Mix 2 doesn't yet have *official* Lineage support is something that deeply counts as a cons in my books.
