OnePlus 6 shows off its woodgrain back in new leaked image

27 March 2018
The design lines up with what we've seen from some hands-on pictures, the texture definitely doesn't.

If a person has a preference for an fp scanner, they can't just ignore it and it's fair to express disappointment with placement in such a case. Don't be a troglodyte.

Personally, I find a rear scanner to be way more natural than weight shifting a large phone to angle my thumb for the front scanner.

If you have lived in China or know anything about the Mandarin speaking community you'll know how they learn to read words in English. And don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to sound racist or anything, that's how some words are learnt in English in China because it sounds like that to them when they transliterate the words. As for the word 'APPLE' there is literally no exact Chinese alternatively TRANSLITERATION to the last part of the word 'LE' as the 'L' consonant in Mandarin never ends without a Vowel. It's pretty much the same for the English speaking people, they too take the Chinese words and make them into English words for example the 'Pinyin' if you know what that means.

And apparently you totally unaware of people which their native language is not English.

A headphone jack and bottom facing speaker? Seems like I'm gonna skip OnePlus yet another year.

Just as you assume I'm a dude you seem to assume that Chinese people are thick and cannot distinguish between logos, pronunciation or whatever! I find this quite incredible.

                    Your original post-

"Even the names are meant to be very similar:

Oneplus is like Oppo, which is like Apple"

Ok, so you and I can see and hear that those words are different ........ BUT Chinese people can't ............ Hmmmmmm ok, right ...

                    Beam me up Scotty!

[deleted post]Dude, don't you understand that no translation is being used?!

Everyone in the world (and also Chinese) just say (or at least try to say) Apple - they don't translate the word to their native language!

And when Chinese people try to say Apple, it sounds very similar to them trying to say Oppo.
And this happens also for other non-English speakers!

And even for English speakers, it sounds pretty similar: Oppo, Apple!

5ufy9n, 28 Mar 2018I feel sorry for you as you have misunderstood the reality ... moreDon't feel sorry for me.

I can easily tell the difference between OPPO and Apple ..... I feel blessed..... It's a skill ..honest....... I see the letters O, P, P and O and I can skillfully and with ease see that it does not look the same as the letters A,P, P, L and E placed together to form the word Apple........ and that's before I even get onto the OnePlus that the poster also implied is similar!!!

Ok, perhaps if you say OPPO with a strange mock Chinese accent like some character from a 1970's politically incorrect sitcom you can perhaps make it sound like Apple I grant you that but the reality is that it doesn't change the fact that the word Apple in Mandarin is not pronounced anywhere close to the word Apple.

This image look amazing. I don't mind the notch with OLED display. If it has 4K resolution and support google daydream, it would be my next phone.

Anonymous, 28 Mar 2018Eh? Just popped into my local grocer shop and asked for ... moreI feel sorry for you as you have misunderstood the reality that the word 'Oppo' is derived from a transliteration of the English Apple into a Chinese way of saying it i.e. 'Ah Po'. It's true that in reality the Chinese word for Apple is 'Ping Guo'.

You're sort of right about the 'Oppo' sounding a bit like Apple when transliterated in Chinese. The Chinese word for Apple is actually 'Ping Guo' but when you try to pronounce the English word 'Apple' it sort of becomes 'Ah Po'.
