Carl Pei confirms that the OnePlus 6 will have a notch

The company's co-founder says there's a good reason for that.

Looks dumb. They had to copy the poor design from the iX didn't they...

With bezeless screen comes consequences, the notorious notches. And when comes explanation why I like Samsung. Like everyone follows market leader in design Apple, Samsung as leader follows it's own approaches, as everyone removing 3.5mm Samsung stays with it, as everyone putting notches, Samsung says no, give please respect to this brand for not making your phone into iphone

AnonD-619295, 29 Mar 2018Ill keep my 5T then, stupid ugly notch shit. Are you kidding? 1+5 was a ripoff iPhone 7 and 1+5t was no better. I will agree to all of that lazy close to no designers of 1+ if they add some revolutionary life improving tech like under fingerprint sensor and waterproofing.

"Apple is paving the way forward and as component suppliers produce parts for the new iPhone, those parts become available to Android makers too, including OnePlus."

This is a crap statement. The same parts can't be on the different phones since the measurements are different. Stop being a shill for Apple.

DYK - Gestures based UI functionality is not a creation of Apple. Many other manufacturers had this before Apple. Blackberry OS 10.x devices were all gesture based.

Not surprised, because OnePlus will stop supporting OMS layers on Android 9.0 thanks to Google. No more theming and customisation. Shame android is becoming like Apple sh!t..

Blind sheep. What's annoying is that no one will know that this notch was their failure. We already got estimates that the sales of the smartphones will slow down in the near future, I am sure all these execs will blame that and not the freaking notch. Can't believe I am saying that but seems like Samsung are the most sane company here.
Can't wait for this insanity to be over somehow.

forget the good reasons, the most important reason is, Apple has a notch.

This is just an example which I have talked about so many times. Nothing fundamentally wrong with the notch, as it makes design sense, but it was one of the differentiating factors of iPhones at the time, so Android fanboys attacked it. Suddenly caught when inevitably, their own beloved Android companies started copying.

Just chill and use whatever tech serves you best. Brand loyalty is stupid, as companies themselves do not have customer loyalty.

You lost me at "notch". I have a OnePlus 3T but now I'll never get OnePlus again, screw this copy-cat garbage.
