I own a Moto... moreI don't see what is that Xiaomi compromise on there phones to have over 100 euro less price for there SD450 device or SD625 or SD636 that all have the price lower then G6 and G6 play. Even others like Meizu M6S or E3. Or then Leeco that have SD8xx CPU on there phone and cost under 200 euro most of them ?
Thing is that i don't care much of the OS as everyone have there own skin program on them.
I don't buy my self a phone for the reason that it gets updates. I buy a phone for my daily use. I still need to have antivirus program on the device cause it's Android and there are billions of android users so to expect that there is more viruses to then on WP or IOS that have less users. Less users means less dumb people to abuse with viruses to get money out of them.
For 250 euro phone i expect it to have at least 100 000 Antutu benchmark score so it will run games and apps smoothly. My phone right now that i have is something 41 000 score and well starting up need for speed no limits take at least 2 minutes. Same with my Asus Nexus 7 2013. Meizu M6S have something ~90 000 score and phone cost only 140 euro.
5.7 inch screen with HD+ 6 core cpu. No notch and side mounted fingerprint scanner. No dual camera in the back too. Is with 3GB RAM and 32GB ROM. Aluminium back with plastic lines for sensors/antenna For 250 euro i expect to have already something SD636/670 with 4GB 32/64GB+ with 5.7-6.0 FHD+/QHD screens in the middle class.
OS is secondary need as i have Freeme OS on mine over Android 7.0 i dont care much what my next Android will be like. It will be still android but with some skin program with extra features that said company likes.
For me when Nokia was dumbphone was special and innovative. When Nokia was with windows it was still special. I have not owned any Nokia with Symbian but i have owned over ten Nokia's. Now when Nokia is on android it isn't special anymore and over priced with old hardware too. I can chose other droids that have more interesting hardware with lower price then new Nokia have to offer.
I have never liked Motorola design on any of there phones. I remember my dad had Motorola MCR 9500XL NMT phone for a while and then got Nokia 2110. We used the Motorola in a family vacation in some edge of my country largest island some bomb hole and the phone had network in there to make calls. GSM in that time was just starting up.

Just have a look at that chipset and the price
a 9k redmi 5 is far better value than either phone, as it's cheaper and more or less has the same chipset
the only saving grace may be the camera
The days are long since passed where the big M mad amazing phones with great value for money...

Still there is no Oreo update for Moto G55 series, so buy Nokia or other, Motorola still uses same 4 year old design and their only cons was providing Android updates as early as possible , which is now diminished

looking forward to the G6 Plus version! most likely will sport a snapdragon 630. Maybe add IP68 like in the moto x4 please?

For me, Motorola has the ugliest design in the smartphone market. The light curved shaped top & bottom design looks a decade old & quite weird. Been a Motorola user for past 4 years with Moto G(1st Gen) & will finally upgrade to Nokia 7 plus next week. Motorola needs to change their design lang, the back is ok but the front design is with arc shaped top & bottom looks so outdated.

I prefer better specifications for my money. I don't care if they have a nicer Ui or what, i always use custom ROMS with latest security patchs and without any bloatware. The software can be changed, of course you need to choose a brand that allow it. Xiaomi do, and others too.

People only look at specs alone. That's silly. I own a Moto and the UI is very responsive, as much as any flagship. And as far as Xiaomi is concerned, keep in mind that low prices for high specs means compromises.

Note 8 LAGS, the Z Play doesn't. Simple as that.

More RAM quantity -> faster app switching. More RAM frequency -> faster execution of apps. Channels also help to a certain degree(Dual channel is better than Single channel)

I will like to add xiaomi is using super fast and latest ldppr4x memories on rn5 pro which can be found on galaxies. So you can imagine its snappyness along with 6 gigs of ram.

I have type c port on my Leagoo that is plastic phone with a 5.5 inch fhd screen. It has one big problem and for that i am searching for a new device and still waiting to see what there is to come.
Brand for me does not matter My phone model is something 6-7 months in the market and already have had 2 updates. Thats more then what i have had from bigger brand like Samsung.
If i have a choice to chose a device that has SD625 , SD636 or Exynos 7872 in it for same or less price then why even look that Moto ? Whats that quality that cost 110-140 over Redmi 5 ? Heck i can get 140 euro Meizu M6s that beat 2 out of 3 Redmi 5 lineup. Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 plus. That 5 plus and note 5 get confusing as i see the note 5 that have SD636 have all the LTE bands i need and SD625 same. By kimovil site Meizu M6S have Antutu score of 90 000 something and Redmi 5 Plus with SD625 have something 75 000 and SD636 around 112 000 and well SD450 around 57 000
So why buy SD450 Moto if you get much more with the price to chose from ?

My 2 year old Z1 Play runs smoother than the Galaxy Note 8 with the almighty Snapdragon 835 (I own a phone repair service and always test phones and run speed tests). Motorola uses a different type of partition system and makes the internal memory age A LOT BETTER than their competition. That's why Samsung and the rest slow down in time. You can't compare the software optimizations of Motorola devs (who once worked alongside Google and really know how to do Android) with crappy korean and chinese software. The only Xiaomi I would recommend is the A1 because of the clean software that doesn't really come from Xiaomi 100%, and it's pure Google but also the design is inspired by an iPhone. If I'd want an iPhone I'd get an iPhone for god sakes. Every detail being taken care of in a Motorola phone, even the vibration motor. On other phones it feels like a toy and cheap, the metal on the OnePlus 5T and vibration motors feel like a joke in comparison to the Z2 Play (this one being a cheaper phone).
You simply can't compare Motorola to Xiaomi. HMD is doing a brilliant job with Nokia too.
