I am unimpressed by their cam quality when compared to their rivals. Otherwise its a nice phone (LCD against AMOLED may roll few eyes though).

It's just that Samsung (and other OEMs) like to calibrate them for vivid colour output. For eg. iPhone X display has higher colour accuracy than previous iPhones with LCDs.

Looking at how battery consumption are quite bad on Samsung phones which are famous for AMOLED screens, this theory is flawed. On the other hand, phones like Mate 10 running LCD panels are doing great with battery power. One true fact is that colors on AMOLED are too fake and vivid. LCD offers much better and accurate colors.

Great phone crippled by using an LCD instead of an AMOLED panel.
They draw less power unless you display an all-white images. In a non 16:9 aspect ratio when viewing a movie the bezels due to 18:9 screen are really noticeable on the LCD with that greyish colour instead of black.
Sure OLEDs suffer from burn in but it's not that bad now that Android finally doesn't make the status bar black all the time it's not that much of a deal. And on am AMOLED you hide the notch that so many people dislike. Sure they are more expensive than LCDs but I'll take a 1080p AMOLED over a 1440p LCD on a phone any day of the weak.

Not a serious VR and Selfie fan, so, this is hot.
Price is logical,
Camera Quality is fairly good (based on available samples)
Display is large enough for 151X75X8 body with good resolution for everyday use.
There are other 6" handsets without annoying notch, pricier but not competing to SD845.
256/8 version would be mine, but ............
My photography remains by my gear, not phone.
SD845 in FHD+ is a monster which must carry an empty carriage made of feather.
Recently MIUI9 Global rom tested on:
Mi Mix - Mi Mix 2 - Mi Max Prime
which are almost as fast and equally fluid with Chinese version.
MIUI 9.5 Global is one step further in performance.
The only obstacle to buy this is the appearance of vivo APEX concept.
As Full screen display is my concern and front facing is not my favorite,
I will wait for Mi Mix 3 or in case of possibility for something like APEX.

Xiaomi phone is OK but MIUI9 Global Stable Roms full of craps, every single preinstall apps full of Ads and can not disable.. LIke Lancau..

I played with Mi Mix 2 at at Xiaomi showroom. Looks good and all, but not loving the front camera position. Your selfies end up with you looking down instead of up. Well I guess if you could get used to holding it with your left hand ....

It's basically the same as mix 2.
Which means lower bts ratio than the original, far lower battery, nonsensical aspect ratio, scrapped piezoelectic speaker (instead of making it better).
Basically scrapped everything that made mix 1 unique and an important release.
How can one be happy about this? It's a solid step back over the original...
