Haha, nice quote,he shouldn't said like that so they can merge with android rather than WinMo.. poor nokia
"using Android was like peeing in your pants for warmth? Oh, right, Nokia's own Anssi Vanjoki, chief of smartphones at the time. Well, what he meant was there's little long-term profit in Google's OS and using it is only a temporary relief. We wonder how he'd feel now that Nokia is peeing in its pants with Symbian hoping the warmth will last them enough for Windows Phone 7 to take off."

meego is dead even before release because of microsoft trojan
symbian wont be as good as android or ios even if nokia makes its UI android-ish
and wp7 needs at least 1 year to become a recommended OS
while samsung htc and apple are making really good smartphones so i dont see good future for nokia at all!

The menu system isn't flat. You can still add folders if you want to.

N900 has flat menu. Folders were for beeter organization, you could remove them if you wanted. Also, you still get folders and N900 does have a pulldown bar.

AnonD-11608, 24 Aug 2011android rising at the expense of nokia marketshare'' its tr... moreI think what you meant was that in order to rise someone has to fall.
Marketshares work as such anyway. To be fair though, in the recent timeframes up till now, Nokia did not come out with a fair and worthy competitor in the smartphone market to the iOS and Android Devices.
In my opinion, over the recent years, the only remaining market share that Nokia has managed to hold on to was more of the budget segment. At a performance price point they were great phones, but when you're comparing cream of the crop, they couldn't really stand up to the test.
In defence to this, they've even been releasing phones which in most part unknown chinese manufacturers only do, old style candy bar phones without wifi, bluetooth or any funky features.
Take the Nokia X1 and the C2 into example. They are recently launched phones which are bare minimalistic and are somewhat budget. I personally however, recently bought a Nokia X1 as it did what my android phone could not:
Last for over 30 days on standby, and have dual sim capabilities, a great plus for travellers like myself when my main smartphone dies from lack of juice.

AnonD-1082, 24 Aug 2011I know it's a hardware thing but you have to credit Android... moreseems like some people r jealous.they didnt expect symbian to rise again.dont panic now.bcoz its just the beginning .nokia has now awaken .by the way i hv just used android on one of the cheaper optimus and it lags like hell. I am wondering why people r blaming just symbian.android copied maemo.thats it .nokia just are applying their own techniques, and nothing is wrong with that. Dönt be jeolus u nokia haters ,just wait n watch.

[deleted post]To this I'd like to know, in what respect did the SGS 2 "suck"??
The 5130 in its own is not a smartphone, and they're virtually in different leagues of its own. I'm interested to hear your reasoning on this.

AnonD-11608, 24 Aug 2011who knows nokia will change their ideas if they receive a p... moreCould possibly happen, very true. I personally am quite shocked that they decided to drop Meego though. I thought it looked pretty good on the N9, more so than Symbian Belle.
If anything I kinda wished it was the other way around, where Symbian was dropped for Meego and WP7.
My point precisely was that Meego was a well done implementation of smartphone OS, with a competent UI, hence them not needing to walk down the Symbian Belle route.
On a side note, see, conversations are so much more civil when people learn to be open minded and not a downright ass about things... The word suck should be banned altogether -_- You actually get to learn something without all the flaming.
