Samsung Gear S3 receives another update that's meant to improve battery life

A few months ago the smartwatch got a similar treatment, but there's always room for improvement.

Weekly charging ok but now we have to charge after two days

    I used to charge every other day, now I have to charge every night after this update. This new update definitely did not help battery life. :(

      After the update it is even worse. I was getting 3-4 days, now I am at exactly 8 hours ... great trash ...

        So, I updated as of this morning. 7 hours consumed only 7% with notifications and gesture face viewing on. If this keeps up, it would mean I would be getting 4 days worth per charge.

              I just bought an s3 classic yesterday (6th) and it updated minutes after I bought it. The software version is R770xxu2crc3. Is this the latest or did it just update because it's new?

                No update for European Gear S3 for now. Still waiting. Not that battery was bad before.

                  I'm still waiting for Samsung to release an updated Gear S3 / Frontier with AndroidWear instead of Tizen. The software, support, and third-party is really janky and thin when compared directly to the competitors.

                  Otherwise I don't see much incentive for someone to upgrade from the likes of Huawei Watch v1 or Apple Watch v3.

                  Come on Samsung, take my money!!

                    I got the S3 after a month of using the Gear Sport. I realized that I do need the speaker on my watch for quick calls (a majority of people do not know this), and the audio buzz for alarms and certain notifications is much more useful. Been using the Gear Frontier for 2 weeks now, and since I never experienced the previous Tizen version, I thought the 2.5-day usage was normal - as what I was getting for the Sport. Roughly 40% consumed daily with mixed use.

                    I just place it on the charging cradle when I take my morning bath, and it usually charges to above 90% by the time I get out of the house for work.

                      Updated... Watch lasted 3 hours without losing 1%.... Not to shabby... Best battery life on a smart watch I've seen..... My huawei watch 2 just has to be looked at and it loses 1% absolutely shocking battery life compared to the gear s3
