what's special about this phone anyway, i mean, that color? iPhone were already special as it always use to be, but color red feels and looks cheap rather atleast for me. I do preferred black or white instead, But I'm not against options, I just don't get how they making this as much "superior" or "premium" compared to other options of colors...

I am SICK of hearing! "Ha! My company is better, it has X, Y, Z" or "why you're purchasing that product?!" It's MY DAMN DECISION! Do I interfere in your decisions when you're buying a phone? Ofcourse not. So don't do it to others for god sake!
People buy what they buy because it ticks a V on either condition:
- It matches their needs.
- Awesome Bang for buck ratio
- previous phone is broken/contract is over.
And some other reasons.
Some prefer apple, for it's ecosystematic OS, and Others prefer Android (like me).
Please. For all haters on all brands, this is for you.
Just because I bought a certain brand doesn't mean i'm their Zombie or a fan of them!

Since you've mentioned you're from USA/Canada, your option is the first one. You're getting it sim free.
In some cases the dealers might insist that costum coloring is impossible, stand on your own. And you'll get it. (The price of costum color on S9 is 5.88% of the price added).

The specification of this iPhone compared to astandard iPhone 8 are the same.
There might be more limiting storage options (like last year's iPhone 7 Red Edition that had it 128 and up) but otherwise it's the same.
