so can I use without monitor?

FromChinaWithLove, 11 Apr 2018Well, you somewhat mentioned the answer as well as the prob... moreThat's true, The potential market of Chromebooks is at students and average users at the moment.

Since average users don't have the knowledge, they might see that the chassis is all metal and looks pretty good (from a reputable company), so I assume they'll judge a book by its cover and go with an even more premium looking device and pay more.

People could easily buy an iPad for its price, but they might be like myself or just think differently. A tablet does not yet offer you the same capabilities a computer can offer today - Though for average users, an iPad is definitely more than enough to have a great battery life, use email, browse the web and communicate on a more effective scale.

I agree with you on the iPad side, I prefer Android much more, but IOS on iPad works exactly as it's intended and it's very fast and smooth.

As an iPad Pro owner, I can really see potential in this device.
iPad Pro is horrible in terms of software, OS stability and non-existent mouse support.
The only two gripes I have with this is slower SOC and HP stylus support usually sucks.

DonAlduck, 11 Apr 2018To be honest, I bought one as it's: -Fanless (no noise in ... moreAlso, I'm not even a Apple user ( iPhone, iPad, or Mac). But I have to give it to Apple for iPad and iOS this time.
Especially when Chromebook device selling for this high price.

DonAlduck, 11 Apr 2018To be honest, I bought one as it's: -Fanless (no noise in ... moreWell, you somewhat mentioned the answer as well as the problem altogether here.

Does the majority of users knows that much of things about computing in the first place? ( I mean switching to the other OS and as well as understanding how to install it isn't really that common to the majority of regular users.)

So for regular users to really see the advantage that you've mentioned isn't even in the regular users mind in first place, in general.

And let's not forget, there's something call ultrabook and some of their prices could be this low. Also, how often do people really gonna browse the web for 8 -10 hours a day? So the battery thing isn't really a issue in most case. Cause you're charge it once you're anywhere near the a outlet anyway.

But again, if this device is even expensive than a iPad+ keyboard case + pencil. And that it also needs to connect to the internet to fully functional.

So, I just don't see why would any regular users wanted to buy it with that much of money?

FromChinaWithLove, 11 Apr 2018Chromebook! A OS that somewhat a half Android and half web ... moreTo be honest, I bought one as it's:
                  -Fanless (no noise in lectures/class/work)
-Battery lasts 8-10 hours by browsing the web and having Linux installed/run

It's pretty useful if you ask me, but certainly only for those that can actually see the advantage. For average users, it's great, but definitely not at that price as this HP.

I choose the new iPad instead. 329 + 79 pencil + 79 keyboard. Still cheaper and i could get a case.
Running lots of apps and still considered as mobile platform. If chromebook can run such a desktop app, then it could change the game.

                      Worth 2 new iPad 2018

Chromebook! A OS that somewhat a half Android and half web OS ( right?) And in order to use most of its features that one's must connect to the internet ( right?)

I mean * Chromebooks run Google's Chrome OS. These machines are designed to be used primarily while connected to the Internet, with most applications and documents living in the cloud.*

So once again, why it this still a thing ( or anyone would willing to pay with over $600 something plus tax for a device like this?). Consider when a iPad + a Logitech keyboard ( or even with the Apple pencil too) is even cheaper.

All other coverage on this device states that it has 32Gb of built in storage, not 64Gb. European market difference or error?

Google is filthy OS. It sucks to the core, whether it's Android or Chrome OS.
