Nevertheless, frequency of 2.2ghz on Tenaa website shows that it will not be P60.
It can be S626, S630 or S660, but not P60

Especially on most advanced API, P60 win on opengl 3.1.1 and Vulkan...or on advanced effect like tesselation

Mediatek processor for the android one device will be just like every other smartphone.
Wont get fast update as it will depend on the driver released by the Mediatek which is close to non existant.
Just look at every mediatek device, how many devices got os update

The Helio P60 actually makes a lot of sense. It is fabricated on the 12 nm process , has a more powerful CPU (but a weaker GPU) than SD 636 and also supports Dual 4G VoLTE on both sim cards. It is actually a great mid range chip , way better than SD 625/630.
Not pumped about the battery though :( Guess Xiaomi reserves big battery inly for MiUi phones.

XDA Developer already booted GSI on mediatek device (without any kernel source) and mediatek device already comes with bootloader unlocked.
moreover xiaomi is not allowed to sell their mobile with mediatek chipset in india hopefully they will release SD version here in india

Helio P60 is praised already for having 12nm built and true dual SIM 4G capabilities. This one might change the game for Mediatek, but then Custom ROM developers are not favoring Mediatek, that is a concern.

In China phone is gonna launch with Helio P60 out of the box Oreo Update.
Globally it will launch with SD660 confirmed with Pure Android.
Only change from Redmi Note 5 Pro will the camera which will be more improved battery would be around 3000mah rest all remains same.

Still on android 8.0 instead of 8.1
8.0 came after 3 months of it being released, and people argue over stock Android and fast updates
Since this is is Android One, it should be way faster

If Mi A2 comes to India with 2,910 mAh battery and Mediatek processor, then it will be the end of Mi A1's success saga and a huge mistake from xiaomi's part.
