all on assumptions, 15 Apr 2018lol...what are you talking about i have no clue...Some of t... more1- From apple officials, who send information if an authorized analysis company requests officially.
2- Apple has a range of products from Apple TV 32GB (150$) to iMac Pro Top configuration (14,000$)
I mentioned that Apple products which from previous lines in my comment means, All products with visual interaction.
3- India since 2016 is a country with 26% apple's Mac products + 38% iPhone shipment, Arab countries are 60% of apple's Mac products + 20% of Apple's products buyers.
So, if 86% of other Apple products or 58% of iPhones out of 100% is not majority, I am sorry.
If apple only omit those Arabs which make a question mark above your head, from Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Egypt, Algeria, Morocco, Iraq, Jordan and , They must forget 10 million iPhone shipment per year.
4- considering English language, I did not mentioned China, Korea and Japan who are not English speakers.
One of my brother wanted to buy a HomePod to use it at work. I offered him my MX-JS9500 which was not suitable for his working environment. After visiting his new office, I offered him to change his S8+ with Two AT&T 256GB iPhones (X & 8 Plus). 100$ monthly + 250$ Radiant 360 R3 which is compatible with almost all alive iOS and Android products along PC and Mac. he paid 350$ and monthly 100$.
HomePod = 350$
512GB internal Storage and tested 9 Hour of heavy use + a capable speaker to play light music for 8 hours a day = 350$
If anyone still choose HomePod, just for listening, I have nothing to say anymore.

It is ok to pay if good.
But its launch is slow and buggy, so why buy?
Also other apple products’ update cycles are unknown.. SE, ipad mini or mac mini. They stop mac pro n come out with imac pro.. twice update macbook pros.
making people fear whats coming out and stop buying all together. Now they launch iphone x , normal iphones.. rumors of a bigger iphone x. Who will buy in such an unstable product line up?? When your purchase might be obsolete in no time?

Have the sheep finally awoken? Apple think that adding their logo to something means that they can double up on what they charge the sheeple. I'm loving their incompetence and seeing that finally their fan base is waking up to the fact that they sell over priced crap. May the rot continue at warp speed lmao!

AnonD-147910, 13 Apr 2018I was reading your comment thinking that you are making a f... moreThanks for the correction.
I ran out of time to edit my post as I wanted to correct it.
Your real life experience is valuable to me.
One of my habit is listening to music with 4 criteria:
1- Clean = No distortion, even environment effects.
2- Clear = Multiple channels separated in FLAC tracks.
3- Extended Bass = Powerful enough to shake dishes and make them dancing in cabinets.
4- Highly Sensitive = Light music with sudden low pitch to high in a smooth way.
So, by my experience, continuous playing at regular apartment with loose non standard walls, which misdirect the predefined tuning, It did not act as clearly as I expected (playing MP3 in 320Kbps).
For me, bass performed even worse.
Although It was clean and highly sensitive, It was not enough.

The Scientist Pigeon, 13 Apr 2018iPhone, iPad, iMac, MacBook, Mac [machines], Apple Watch an... moreI was reading your comment thinking that you are making a fair comment... then I read the part about the HomePod being a mono speaker. It has 7 tweeters and a woofer. Reviewers suggest that the sound quality is better than the SONOS one.
Personally I wouldn't buy it even for half the price. I have a soundbar that's 300W with bluetooth and my iphone/ipad respond to hey Siri even if I'm in a different room.
BUT I visited an apple store (Leicester, UK) and they had ONE, just ONE, HomePod playing music and I swear I thought they were using multiple wall-mounted speakers. That thing sounds unbelievably good for what it is, and the real difference between it and other smart speakers is that the sound is not directional. It sounds great in the whole room. For 350USD though they are not having my money.

My interpretation: most people aren't concerned about audio quality, and are happy paying as little as possible for something that somewhat sounds like the songs they play. Evidence of this is the declining state of proper home mid/hi-fi, and the popularity of Beats headphones, HTIB, and soundbar systems. People who do care about audio fidelity buy proper bookshelf/floorstanding speakers, a receiver/amplifier, etc.. HopePods try to bridge those markets, but the intersection is small. Audiophiles look down on them, and casuals are put off by the cost.
Personally, I'm baffled why anyone would want any of the so-called smart speakers to begin with.

iPhone, iPad, iMac, MacBook, Mac [machines], Apple Watch and iPod are hardware which have visual interaction capabilities.
Headphones and other accessories are visual too;
HomePod will find its place in few Apple users. Why?
Because apple products are expensive by any factor. Other brands have Low, Mid, High, Premium and flagship categories, but Apple only has one, and for this reason if you want to have Apple logo in yours, you must spend a lot.
Here, many people with their pocket will laugh and think that Apple goods deserve such price which in their calculation, the most expensive Apple product is half the price of their bracelet.
Point is right here:
If Apple exclude those who are ready to spend 10 times of such price, HomePod is a failure. If Apple include them, again HomePod is a failure.
Inclusion and Exclusion results failure?!?
How is it possible (readers reaction!)!!!!!??
Most people who buy Apple products are those who pay the whole money when buy the item.
Those people are mostly Non-English speakers. They can read or write in English but those who can speak English with American Accent or British are too limited.
Rich Arabs and Indians are majority of Apple products owner which their vocal interaction with true American or British is almost impossible, unless some of them try hard to learn.
Almost 80% of English speakers around the world live in country with contract based payments, which means they buy iPhone (which is the best selling Apple's product) by further payment, from 50$ to 300$ with further installments.
Now, Who, wants to pay as much as an iPhone X 64GB on contract, for a small, limited mono speaker which their iPhone speakers are Stereo and perform well enough indoor and outdoor.
Those who are in Smart Home field seriously. Are they a lot? No. They are fewer than Apple's expectations.
Today, Most of those who are professional listener, have at least a compact Hi-Fi system at home (Old [AUX] or New [BT/Other Wireless] ) and for outdoor use, a Hi-Fi Boom Box and for limited spaces, a portable Bluetooth speaker.
If next generations focus on languages that use most of Apple's products or put HomePod on-contract or offer a stereo, instead of mono speaker or at least make it compatible with Android, there are hopes for success.
If Apple do not do anything, I think this time propaganda and intelligent advertisements won't help.

It's like Apple didn't learn from the Echo Dot or Home Mini.
It's almost like... They think their customers are idiots, that they don't know what a smart speaker is.

2x better audio quality with standard 5.1 audio system, or even nice looking sound bar with Bluetooth= 150-200$ + Amazon Echo or Google Home for 100
End of story.
