DarK, 15 Apr 2018"The functionality is currently only available in North Ame... moreIndeed. In some countries (like mine) Android Auto isn't even available yet, wired or not. My new car has it, but the app is not available from the store.
So watch out when you rely on something from Google. They're getting worse by the day.

Kangal, 14 Apr 2018So I've got the new S9+ in review, and my personal LG G6 da... moreNot being able to use "Google Maps" on Apple CarPlay alone is a deal breaker for me & for many. Being able to use your phone's updated navigation (with phone's data) & voice control was the main reason for these system to even exist. I don't wanna watch "5-minutes-craft" video on my cars head unit. I want to use Google Map or Waze & listen to some music from my personal collection. Once, I drove a 2017 Mazda 3 for about 1200 mile long drive, which had a 5" of touch screen. There was no nav, no android auto or carplay. All I could do was connect my phone over bluetooth & listen to some music or answer some phone calls. On that drive I realized how important Android Auto or CarPlay is. Without those, that 5" of touch screen was useless, you can listen to music or answer phone call with some bluetooth adapter, you don't a screen for that.

    Sorry about this loooong comment.

Kangal, 14 Apr 2018So I've got the new S9+ in review, and my personal LG G6 da... moreI think they are both equally as good. Android audio worked great on my note 8. From app switching from waze to Google maps to turning of my ac when I use Google assistant. Apple carplay has more app support but both are great!

what took them so long for this very seemingly native feature? Nertheless, it should be wireless only. With all the cable dangling there, the car dashboard is a mess.

Apple has to deal with implementing one phone with a predefined design language and app list into Apple CarPlay.
Google, on the other hand, can only make it fit in with material design. They have no say as to what Samsung or LG does with their visual design and hence will never work or look as good on Android Auto.
Same goes for Android Wear/Wear OS. It worked great on my Google Pixel. Now it just looks out of place when I use it with my Galaxy S8.

So I've got the new S9+ in review, and my personal LG G6 daily driver.
And I gotta say AndroidAuto is "okay" but isn't that great to use.

Apple CarPlay is really better to use.
They really paid attention to the little things, which stick out after you use it constantly.
A stark contrast to Google's method of limited support, just look at AndroidTV or AndroidWear.
