AnonD-13986, 28 Aug 2011Ok. For so many years, I never had that kinda problems, but... moreSorry to break it to you, but "Jos" is right.
The Nokia's N series is really crap. Everyone should stay away from it. Constant hardware issues. Don't know about the E and C series though.

Since you, as you have said, rushed to buy the SGS2 you probably still have the stock ROM on your SGS2.
This ROM is known that it has a bug that drains your battery really fast.
I don't own a SGS2, but I think XXKH3 is the latest ROM. You should check the XDA forum or SamFirmware for the latest ROM that fixes these early issues with your handset.

No offense "Sony Ericsson fans" but what's the point of launching a "New Flagship Device" with 1.4GHZ single-core when all other major manufacturers launched their first wave of Dual-Cores and reading their improved second wave?!
Xperia Arc launched in a market that giant droids Optimus 2X, SGSII, Atrix and Sensation was fighting each other full time and over clocked up to 1.5GHZ and unbelievable fire power, what's the fate of 1GHZ single-core device in such devastated market?!

Anonymous, 28 Aug 2011I work for Orange Romania as sales manager. Every day I see... moreU kinba making it sound like Europe is the only place in the world.. which thankfuly it isnt.

Not all countries have the same needs, some country have different needs and desires... im talking about customers that is.For EG: America is big on Apple, due to it being american for one, but the country has very wide and accessable WIFI network, therefore making products such as Iphones which use alot of data cheaper to use, even although their "contracts" consist of "free" calls, sms and data usage.

As for the Country i reside it, South Africa, we dont have such WIFI access, and due to our Data Prices being... sadly extremely overpriced, ppl choose not to go for Iphones, due to not only their price, but also because for some unknown reason they use ALOT more data to to simple things like emails, internet browsing and using IMs.

Therefore, They choose phones such as Blackberries, which are HUGE here, due to the Blackberry Service, which Offers "Free" Email, internet browsing and use of BBM.

So saying Phone brands are "gathering dust and not selling" is actually your own fault as a sales consultant,(yes i know ur a manager)U dont sell phones on what everyone else wants, its for u do find the needs of the customer and sell them a handset that meets those needs.People will be gladly surprised at what other brands can offer them.

          Regards

          Jay

I work for Orange Romania as sales manager. Every day I see sales numbers and statistics of mobiles saled by Orange stores and dealers all across Europe. Every day I talk with very big and important clients and I can say to you very sure that busy people, money makers, in permanent rush want reliable mobiles and very easy to use. I will tell you the most wanted mobiles of the moment and you’ll see that nobody cares in fact about cpu speed, os version, number of pixels. Nokia still remain the first option for 86% of our customers: c5-03,E6,7,71,72, N8, X7,6700,6303 still remain the most wanted mobiles in Europe. 50% of mobiles are mobiles up to 150 euro and in this segment Nokia is absolute king of sales. The most wanted function is “transfer” wich make clients dependent of Nokia as a drug. For the most customers is a big problem to transfer all sms, mms, notes, calendar and CONTACTS especially from their old to the new mobile without using a pc,immediately in the store in the first moments of use. And here Nokia is making the rules because can transfer ALL DATA between any models with minimum headache by Bluetooth.
Between the lines I can tell you Apple and Blackberry have also impressive sales, but not again yours beloved asian plastic toys.
Superb models from Sony Ericsson,Samsung,LG becomes dusty and forgotten on the shelves of our stores, even after big discounts. In sales reality almost all customers wants Nokia. For N9 upcoming model, Orange already have thousands of firm orders in standby. Practically in the first month after its launch (in September) nobody will be able to buy a N9 until november. All this is happening while Samsung Galaxy and Sony-Ericsson is dying slowly in the shelves with all their dual cores and androids.

Regular people on the street, in my country, I would say 70% still use Nokia - my company did some research for 2 Telcos. Many people nowadays use 2 or more brands, so there's overlap.

I've used Nokia, SE, and Samsung over the years, and I've found all to be equally reliable. My K850i, which I got shortly after its release, is still going strong, as much as is my E61. I'm not using either right now, but both are still in perfect working condition. You sure you work in an Orange service center?

I have been in these forums long time ago and I wrote my point of views all the time .
let me put you in correct propective about the mobile phones

you shluld know something that not only the product id responsible of promotong iteself technically its also has to do with all these web sites tha promotes the phone and makes it as goods or satans

let me explian you an example that happened with me .
for the last 5 years i was the faithful fan of Sony Ericsson and i used to purchase blindly any mobil,e phone that they produced .at the beginning of this year Samsung and many other introduced the Dual core processor with Super EMOLED screen Galaxy 2 S . I read numerous reviews about the product and all they could say is that Galaxy 2 S is the mobile of the year .
so taking th advise of these reviews finally i changed my line and rushed and boought the Galaxy 2 S .so let me tell you what i have found : its a fast relaible phone but with basic and serious problem THE BATTERY .... as it is dual core processor the battery drains up in half day time and on the other hand the mobile gets so hot when you start using the functions and specially using the web .
and my conclusion is that still the dual core processor that many web sites priaised did not mentioned the truth that the battery gets drained quickly and the mobile heats up to alarming leevels .. I would say that mobile companies still need to refine these products and still need to find a balancing pint between the battery life and the processor demands for power .

i would come to say that single cores processors still are better phones then the dual cores for people that dont have time to charge theoor phones 2 times per day and i can assume that Nokia and sony ericsson took more conservative approach too still keep the balance between speed and battery .

and one more advise , do not rush and accept all the reviews that are praised by web sites

Then when spoilt and taken to Nokia care, then only know the part has been changed.
