As f... moreApparently there is a 6 month rule where the Exynos SoCs are exclusive to Samsung, at least the flagship ones. I've seen midrange SoCs used by Samsung and Meizu just a few weeks apart from each other back in 2016 I think.
Anyway, it doesn't really matter which Android version they are using. Flyme adds plenty of other features from newer Android versions, just like MIUI or even Samsung Experience.

As far as it goes for the newest flagship X9810 (E9810 some might call it) Samsung uses a mandatory of "Samsung only" rule for the first half of the year as per manufacturing date. (Or was it 3 months? Not sure.)
Anyhow. As long that period of The S9 not older than 3 months. Samsung prohibits buying their exynos chipset for the first 3/6 months of manufacturing.
I COULD be wrong guys. I am doubtful in the information.

old exynos 8895 from 2017?? omg!!! it should be newest 9810!!! why meizu didnt use newest exynos 9810??? i think they have ordered and bought more 8895 processors last year and now have bigger surplus of 8895 on their stock and they need to sell it.. with newest mobiles on market meizu has no chance with this processor within battle with most actual flagship phones

But it could still be realistic since the 7 years ban is quite long, long enough to recruit a great team and develop decent processors. They could also raise the funds by promising processors to their investors (namely other chinese companies like BBK) and develop patent sharing contracts.

They may do so, but it would take a lot of time before they become ready for releasing phones with their own chipsets.
Even Xiaomi still can't release many phones that use their own chipset.

I can't believe any respectable OEM would put out a new phone in 2018 with a battery under 3000 mAh - like the smaller Meizu 15 is alleged to have. No thanks!!! I actually won't buy any phone with less than 3400 mAh. Even the supposedly great Samsung Galaxy S9 has only a 3000 mAh battery and I read about a guy who complained about this, saying that he could barely get through a whole day with such a small battery. It seems that only Xiaomi really cares about battery life.

I don't understand. If M15 Plus is also sporting E8895, then why shouldn't we buy Galaxy S8 instead? (Apart from the price difference, of course)

ZTE should get their chipsets from Samsung, too.
They have to prove that having them banned from using Qualcomm chipsets will be one of their worst decisions they've made, maybe ever.
