Raphi7, 20 Apr 2018well it actually stems from an article not so long ago, mos... moreHMD is not mentioned. It was Google, Samsung, Sony, ZTE, but later turn out that Google (Pixels) is ok. Only Samsung and Sony flagships in the past of two years was a sending fake security updates paches, just with differente date or month.. :)
Sorry for bad english but you get a point. Ok Samsung have 100 models per year maybe thats a reason for their flagships to lie and aent fake update, but what about Sony? Only 3-4 phones per year and must lying about security patches? ZTE is Chinese anyway, but Huawei and Xiaomi is not included in OEMs list.

Anonymous, 20 Apr 2018So? You want cheap Xiaomi or laggy Samsung?Noo how about Nokia Lumia camera quality, the real Nokia? Not phone from someone who just licensing Nokia brand. Have you ever used Nokia 8 from 2017, if you are do you remember what quality was with back camera? Soon you understand that HMD (Foxconn) is NOT Nokia, better. Nokias from 2018 is not bad, for example 7 plus, but there are better phones for 400 euros out there..

          Thats i call the speed.
Like month or two has been unveiled and now its receiving new update.
People buy Samsung S8 year ago with nougat when oreo were almost released and they have oreo for like month from now.
          Thats a difference.
Samsung care only for sales and then nothing.
Nokia offers real post sales services compared to most other competitors.

It is good that Nokia/HMD provide security patches for a phone priced around 100 US Dollars. The Nokia 2 has a more up to date security patch than phones priced several hundred dollars above.

Raphi7, 20 Apr 2018well it actually stems from an article not so long ago, mos... moreThe whole article was pure nonsense - if there were real issues with security updates they stem from Google in that case, not Nokia (HMD). AndroidOne has strict requirements.

well it actually stems from an article not so long ago, most manufacturers miss a bit of security updates, most likely due to human error , or some who just change the name without actually applying the security patch.
There is a table which ranks some manufactures, But on this table Nokia is at the second position together with OnePlus and Xiaomi, generally being 1 to 3 patches beh8nd i thin, but, that's understandable for a company that just started making android phones last year, it's probably because of human error, and that's compared to a company like Huawei or ZTE or LG or Motorola who have been years in the market but are behind by a bit.
Anyways , most companies do this so people should calm down, plus Nokia has been consistent with their updates and support for even their low-end phones, and that's really remarkable !

Even inside Foxxconn stuff is made in a very wide quality range, and I'm pretty sure that smartphones made for HMD have a pretty good quality for it's price (you can see that by reading this site reviews, they always tell how good are the screens and the overall feel of Nokia phones). Besides that, it seems that at the company there is some awareness about the outdated hardware (something only seen in the first Nokia 6, by the way), and that particular situation is looking up for this year.
Disclaimer: I do not own a Nokia.

DarK, 20 Apr 2018Nokia is not Foxconn they only outsource to them same goes ... moreWho cares where the HQ of design appartment is located and witch country the people work in there if there product is made in China only. And they are over priced with old hardware and i taught that Nokia devices are locked so you cant root anything on them.

The Nokia phones i like are to expensive and i wont buy them. Even tough 95% of my phones that i have bought are Nokia phones i wont give them money for old hardware when there are phone makers that give newer hardware for the less price then any Nokia have. Stock android is not something i rush to get and is nothing special. As they dont do there own skin over it even then i dont see why these phones are so high cost. What HMD/Nokia does is only choose the parts that go in there devices, do a design for the device and software for camera and thats about it. All other things are done by Foxconn with low wage workers to get the most profit possible. Old Nokias even in Lumia series had to date hardware with a price tag on them that were good. You got more out of the phone that you paid for, but now you get less out of the phone you paid for. There is nothing special to own a Nokia anymore. There line with be different is no longer valid. There is nothing different on them anymore. OS is same like any other phone that have android on them. Others are at least special with there skins on them and added features. Nokia cant even make good camera anymore.
