may be they add some, instead of 3.5mm jack, but thats about it.

I don't know apple backward to 2000 period. all mobile phones in 2000 period didn't use 3.5 mm jack. This port is one of standard option in the world.

Please no glass back for the new iPhone SE.
Besides the, to my judgement, better looking and stronger aluminium back and bezel, it gives a sort of retro original iPhone look, but containing the A10 fusion chipset offering now recent new technology. Next to the size and possibility for one hand use, this is all very appealing to me.
I do have the actual SE.

Irfan, 24 Apr 2018Expected Price?Likely close to the Iphone SE's current price. Once this new phone is officially announced we will see a sharp clearance on the old SE to make room in cell service providers warehouses and to increase sales revenue. The slight upgrade won't be enough to encourage a higher price scale unless the minimum memory is increased to 64GB like they did with the iphone 8.

A10 chip is still a TOTL flagship chipset. If they can upgrade fingerprint scanner, front & rear cameras (ESPECIALLY the front), add wireless charging & IP67/68, this would be the best compact phone on the market hands down!

Went back to my 5S for a week, and it was almost impossible to type on that keyboard. Viewing photos and videos is a nightmare.
May be its nice to have a small, powerful, affordable "Backup Phone".
Most of the things that I am used to doing on my Phone on a everyday basis, I find it really hard to do it with a small display.

Of course Apple is probably trying to spend the absolute minimum of money on this upgrade.
It feels like they are just throwing their SE 2 at fans, saying: "ok. you want a new SE? here it is. Now shut up and let us make big money on the other iphones."

Many people still prefer reasonably sized phones that can be operated single handed. Good thing Apple is making iPhone SE successor. Hopefully the trend of ever growing phones will turn and we'll once again be able to buy capable 4-4.5" phones.
Hopefully the 3.5mm jack stays.

Benchmarks are only showing CPU scores and speed. However, what should really be looked at is how the device performs in real life, and the OS uses all that CPU power.
Sure Apple's A11 SoC is the fastest, but then it doesn't translate into real life speeds because iOS has become bloated and buggy. Apple used to brag that iOS is "optimized" but now they're focusing on making their SoCs faster to cope with the feature-bloat iOS is having.
No matter how fast CPU is when it comes to benchmarks, if it's running a bloated and buggy OS, then it'll still be laggy and slow.

Anonymous, 22 Apr 2018A10 is a big joke.And yet it defeats almost all Android chipsets (except E9810, the score is 3700 compared to 3500 of Hurricane). I agree that comparing to today's standard. Anything except the latest is DOA. But to cut costs some compromises needed to be made.

The only good thing to iPhone SE was the best processor of its time.
I say this with all confidence cuz i have a SE, but would never update my SE for A10, stupid decision if they go with A10.

Why would you buy phone that cost 800A$ if you can buy iPhone 7 for 400A$?
