All other regions' minimum age will remain 13 years old. The change is part of Europe’s new data regulations.

The only update I need from WhatsApp now is international verification. I've been outside of india for 11 months now and can't change my WhatsApp to another phone.

Without any ID verification it'll probably just as effective as the "I'm 18 years or older" button on certain other services.

Whatsapp doesn't ask for age when making an account, so how will they know?

LOL so kids are too young to use a chat app, but not too young to have sex (The age of consent id 14 in many of the EU countries.
                  Typical liberal "logic".
