This is a bit puzzling, as their wireless routers are really among the best I've ever used. I live on the 7th floor and I get WiFi in the lobby of my building with the AirPort Extreme.

These products failed because Apple hadn't made usable in Starbucks. Imagine if you can carry them around in public, tethered to your macbook or/and iphone; the street envy you get from Android/Windows users would have been enough to the sheep.

Anonymous, 28 Apr 2018"i dont understand what dahel is so good about this product... moreI don‘t have a HomePod, new Apple TV, AirPods, iPod, really the only devices I have one can call rather „new“ are an iPhone 7 and an Apple Watch, which is from 2015, and a MacBook Air from 2014, but those three are devices I would use even if Apple didn‘t exist, they would just be from a different company.

Its lightyears ahead of most network routers for its time. But like typical Apple fashion.. its ignored and improvement all but stopped.. So that Tim can milk you to maximum.. and work on animoji crap. Oh yeah.. and if HomePod is the way to replace this... i can only *facepalm*
Its only recently did the other routers caught up in ease of use / features and finally make these airports obsolete..

I’m love Apple product because of their closed but complete eco system. No worry on compatibility. If there’s a missing link in the eco system, why I have to stay with Apple?

is this thing any special, different, more capable than a general router?
Recent General routers had become very easy on setup and use
when it is poor sales on a certain product, it's normal for a company to discontinue it.

Typical of a megacorp.
They're quite happy now they've got your money but now don't want to give you the customer any support, updates or any decent longevity.
