Really loving my 456GB Exynos Note 8. Sync and manage pretty much ALL my files from my Surface Pro 2 to my Note 8 and vice versa, my Note 8 is literally a pocket PC.

How much space is allocated to the apps partition out of the 128 or 256 version?
Personally I'd choose a 64 + sd card (an expensive sd card - class 10 extreme).

in next year 2019, the standard storage capacity should have been upped to 128GB. when a storage capacity had been set for primary mass production, its cost would be low.
