Damn LG!
Your phone is getting big as fuk like Samsung... why?
dont you have V series for that already?
G series in 6" market? smh

AnonD-708551, 02 May 2018Hope it is cheaper than V30s.Yep, it is. I was surprised. Its said 690 euros in Europe. I mean i got mine V30+ for 690 euros as soon as it came to my country, and it was 3 months after release in US... But comparing G7s 690 to V30s 900 in Europe, thats pretty good.

AnonD-744321, 01 May 2018hmmmmm? the back looks like plastic which is weird because ... moreYou did not read the gazillion news reports about the new display, right?

Its LCD, but with a twist.. it promisses to be awesome with 1000 nits "Super Bright" display and HDR10 certification, but at the same time 30% less power hungry. LG themselves had difficulties to hide their exitement about it (they leaked the Super Bright indication and 1000 nits brightness figure themselves!), so I sure think it will be an awesome display!

Together with the SD845 CPU the 3000mAh battery might be just right.

I think the display will blow the galaxies and Iphone flagships out of the way easily.. LG promisses us a Super Bright display of 1000 nits and is something I have been waiting for, as I use my current smartphone in bright glider cockpits as a navigation aid..

QDR+ and HDR10 is not only about resolution, it also bears requirements in minimum brightness of the display (550 nits if I remember correctly), color accuracy, contrast, frame rate and dynamics.

The 3000 mAh battery might be a concern.. BUT LG also promissed the display would be 30% less power hungry, and it uses the SD 845, which is also known to use less power, so in the end this 3000mAh battery might be just right.. we will see.

Looking forward to the GSMArena review, I hope it will not take too long before they post it :-)

I am willing to pay for such a bright and vibrant display, as it would really help me in my gliding activities. All other cool features are a nice bonus.. probably I would not buy a new fone after this one for years to come! (I have now a Nexus 5x)

3000 mah battery on a Quad HD resolution? Plus P-OLED display? Hmmm. Let's see tomorrow!

Everything else you said is marketing, not least of all surround in headphones. Which tells me you aren't an audiophile and ultimately the DAC won't help you anyway. Besides, there's really sleek dedicated DACs you can use with your phone so you don't have to be tied down to one phone & the company's whims to keep their audio top-notch or not, and which are quite cheap ($50, e.g. FiiO).

A flagship has to be the best in the business, and 4K is ready already for smartphones.

I wish everyone would be very competitive, like everyone wants to be the first to bring an innovative feature and then improve upon it over the period of time.

The XZ Premium has a vibrant and clear 4K HDR screen, and that's what we exactly need.
The Z5 Premium wasn't exactly the best at brightness, colors, and all that, but because of Sony's perseverance to improve the technology, the XZ Premium had an even better panel, and this year's XZ2 Premium improves even further upon what they've had on the XZ Premium and Z5 Premium.

The thing about 4K screens is that when they are needed, they make the experience much better.
If I'm gonna buy a flagship with a 1080p screen, then why would I still buy one when I could get the same exact level of experience on a smartphone that costs half as much?
Higher price tags should mean something, especially in the display since it's what we see the most often on a smartphone.

Anonymous, 02 May 20184k for a smartphone is pure marketing. For a phone it is to... more"4K is too much for a smartphone"
Wow, as if 1080p isn't at all.
Considering the seriously high price tags of smartphones, there's no reason for them not to put a better screen quality than even sub-$200 smartphones.
Would anyone like it when, say an iPhone 8 Plus that costs $800 has the same screen resolution as a $200 Huawei Honor 7x? Of course not! And I know it's more than just the screen quality, but still, they should've had something better for the screen that makes it worth the double, triple, or even quadruple the price of a budget phone.

And like I've said, 4K is now ready for smartphones, but OEMs are just lazy to incorporate the technology.
They can do the same technique as Sony's, where 4K only kicks in when consuming contents that needs high resolution, while keep the rest running in 1080p or 2K.

They all need to hurry up and move forward. It's not like we're supposed to stay in 1080p or 2K forever, when the newer and better ones clearly exists.
