It doesnt tell that are those android users happy with their devices.

I would thing for example most of zte/huaweii users arent happy with their laggy phones. They only bought it because it didn't cost almost anything.

I havent heard anyone to say anything good about those, except they are good for it's price. That's the only thing what people really say about those. And both of those gain huge market share.

I think the only stat that you need to see are the official market shares, that tells a factual story rather than theories. Personally I have an Android Galaxy S, iPad and the Nokia N8 running Anna. Sitting from where i am, I can honestly say that the Android device is the only thing I need for all round use. I find it hard for a power user to want to convert to IOS purely from need, but might 'WANT' to swap for just desirability. Thats a different argument altogether.

If the new iPhone looks like that, Motorla (Google) should sue. Looks too similar to the Defy... The irony would be delicious.

There is no illusion about it, so lets deal with facts. Their growth has been halted by Android, yes they are still growing but the margin are very small now. And it doesnt matter whether the market is from lower or mid range, they are losing the market share.

looks like someone still cares about the size a phone actually has, the others have gone nuts with over 4 inch screens, it's a phone not a god damn brick

and BTW I don't support Apple all the way, their products are way to expensive and "closed" for most users; but they do have some usefull stuff against the competition

if only the like of HTC and Samsung focused on only a handful of phones a year the result could easily overrun Apple, instead of just promoting junk phones ( the so called low end)

The game has moved on and Apple possibly never saw the scale of the battle when the original iPhone was conceived, its a great strategy to license out Android by Google. Whether Apple like it or not, they have to fight multi vendor and thats not Android's fault.

Anonymous, 01 Sep 2011both ios and android are based on linux and I thk they are ... moreLinux is irrelevant. The difference here is openess of development. Apple's closed environment would mean things are a little more efficient, but Android's weapon is flexibility. In most cases, I find IOS apps are slick and works nicely, but I simply cannot find apps on my iPad that I have on my Android phone that i find most useful.

Because of the low and mid price android phones, and because frankly almost every potential new phones at store are android phones. How you can beat that?

Bruce lee also was good in martial arts, but in reality if 30 guys fight with him sametime he's going to lose eventually even he fights back very well.

If you compare apple with other brands one by one, you really see how well iPhone is doing, it's market share growing fastest.

Apple losing ground to android because it's just one or two phone. What you think would happen if others has chance to use iOS too.

Is that why Symbians Belle has to copy Android's notifications? What is so revolutionary in IOS5? Name them. Airplay maybe? I have an iPad and yes it does work, but DLNA works just as well. What else has it got? Why is everyone else copying Android? Why is Apple losing the market to Android? These are points that you cannot refute, back it up rather then just always shooting blanks and shout people off.

Its ok though, you are a very typical Apple fan and I like the passion. But you need to back up your points, which you sadly cant.

Dont get me wrong, i love my iPad as its a very effective piece of kit around the house and excellent email tool. But Apple is losing ground and you ALL KNOW IT.
