No it doesn't or where are these games if not in gameloft official site?

http://www.gameloft.com/android-games/top/ here's all the android games i guess. 45 then i discount those 3D games (10) because they are just same game with 3D graphics, so i think 35 is real answer.

And now everyone is saying that games so what, but guess what this same difference is with all the apps too, not just only with games.

Look (youtube) what musicians can get out from iOS compared to android it's like different world, you can get so much great apps and hardware for iPhone/iPad. It's really unbelievable how much musicians devs can get out from iPhone.

This is comment from one company who trying to turn one big music app for android.

"One of the most asked questions today:

      "What about Android OS?"

It's on the roadmap, stop nagging! We have a development team working on a low-latency Android audio-engine and there are many screen resolutions and device specifications to consider, it's not as simple as you may think :)

The screenshot below shows that FL Studio Mobile Android development has started, however, please do NOT expect a release version in the near future. We still have a long way to go."

It's interesting to see how long it takes to get that for android, people has clearly show that they want it for android too. But you android ussers need to wait and wait and wait. We got that june and it's by the way great app especially if you do music with flstudio with your computer they work nicely together and that's brilliant. One of the best app ever :) For me the killer app.

Android users really have no idea what kind of apps you can get for iPhone vs android. They only know that android has 200 000+apps? and think that means quality. No it mostly mean 16 years old home dev making hi's first app which no-one really need.

So saying this i just want to point that there is many reasons (because of the appstore) to use iPhone even if it isn't best paper specs or most features phone. People don't need to be sheeps, brainwashed, losers or anything like that to use iPhone. It's interesting that iHaters only see the PHONE and the SPECS, not the real potential of appstore with different people with different uses.

But of course android users only think that appstore is full of fart apps :D

like i said before, devs has nowdays big power to choose which sells and which not. iPhone sells because of the appstore no doubt about that.

AnonD-20221, 04 Sep 2011If Xperia Play was so good than why is it a flop??? Obvious... moreBecause hardly anyone takes mobile gaming seriously. Would you get a slimmer, lighter, and better phone in general that makes you productive during the day while being able to play a few games? or a "hardcore" gaming phone?

Xperia Play is one of the best gaming phone, but I think it's pretty clear to most people what the better decision is.

Think about it, if iPhone Play came out, would it sell? I don't know...

AnonD-1825, 04 Sep 2011"I have yet to come across a game that is on iOS and n... moreThe way I see it is like this. PC currently has much larger compatible games selection than Mac. One of the reasons is because the top of the line hardware are affordable for PC whereas Macs cost arm and a leg to upgarde. This allows developers to create better gaming experience which they can sell.

Androids have much better hardware and they will be releasing new hardware pretty much every quarter compared to Apple's one every year. Of course, it's slightly a different case right now as iOS is popular and not all Android devices are capable of running top end games. However, as we make further technological advances in hardware, Android becomes more sustainable platform to write games for developers as more appealing games will be found on Android. Right now, yes, Android are weak on selection, but like you said, Gameloft have announced that number of titles that currently exist in iOS will be released on Android soon. (btw, Gameloft has 60+ compatible with Android)

I don't think it's the complexity of writing codes for Android that is making the devs reluctant, because they would go through hell for high revenue. It is most likely the profit/effort wasn't large enough to write for Android. For devs, it's been obviously more profitable to write games for iOS simply because there were more users, but tables have turned. Number of Android users surpassed iOS users and I presume the gap will grow larger as the the hardware standards for Androids go through the roof. (faster dual-cores -> quad-cores etc.) It's only matter of time before Androids get large selection of games and the users with top of the line phones are somewhat future proof.

So currently, Androids have upper hand in hardware and distributions which will eventually make the number of game selection above or at least level with iOS. High end Androids provides better gaming experience with decent games selection with potential to surpass iOS games selection.

Just curious, how much games do you play on your phone? I get pretty frustrated playing on even the 4.3 inch small screen. I don't know why I decided to get in a discussion about games on smartphones when games defeat the purpose of smartphone as it's supposed to help you be productive not waste time playing games. But whatever makes people happy...

Obvious... moreThe Experia play was a floo because the only people who use a phone as a primary mobile gaming device are eithe iphone users , 12 year olds, losers, or all of the above. More video games is the last frontier for the iphone user to justify why they cling to them. The reality is, if you are spending more than a few minutes each day playing video games on a 3.5 inch screen then you probably a loser who lives with grandma. Some phone users buy phones for faster processors, expandable memory, flash for intrrnet browsing, larger screens,. Some buy their phones to play fifa 2010 on a phone in which their thumbs'take 25% of the screen area....then say their phone is the best because of it .

Really? i could name few: fifa 11, death rally (great game from remedy who made max payne, actually one of tbe best mobile games ever), real racing 1/2. rage, dead space (this you got two weeks ago? it took half year to came for android) worms armageddon, battlefield 2, xtreme wheel (great new trial bike game), rainbow six shadow vanguard, need for speed shift 2 unleashed, incredible machine (classic pc game from 90's), sonic hedhehog (new edition for classic sega game) 9mm (gameloft maxpayne & gta style game coming for android too someday...), infinity blade, Mirror's edge (parkour game, great running game), broken sword, spore, gta china town (awesome), driver (classic pc game), rayman 2... i think i stop it here, the list is endless these were in top paid maybe first 150 list or something :) so i only scratch the surface and new games are coming all the time.

"Most major games are on both platforms anyway." Almost every games what i listed is major games.

None of those arent bad games like you trying to say they are big famous games, you are right about that devs dont wan't to do that hard job for making these game for android it clearly is a huge job, because if games coming for android it takes a long time.

I'm sure that android users would enjoy those games too what i listed :) Too bad for you guys that android is so fragmented nowdays.

To recap, my brother and I play same games on our phones, him on iPhone and I on SGSII, mine just looks 10 times better and have bigger screen for better controls and more detailed view. This is probably not a specific case for me not to find a desireable game missing in Android. Most major games are on both platforms anyway.

Having much much more games make better gaming device for sure.

Xperia play is best for gaming experience, but there isn't that much games to support it, that's why it already flopped. Who want game phone which you hardly can play games.

Other hand iPhone has all the best games and by far widest selection of great games.

I don't know but for me that sounds best gaming device.

In fact my brother owns one and I own an iTouch myself. I've had plenty of iOS experience. Now if there are devices that run more complex games with better details and smoothness while having larger screen and responsive screen for control, for example SGSII, Optimus 2x, HTC Sensation etc, then clearly iPhone isn't the "best game device". Think about it logically, how can you say something is the best when obviously there are something better? Like I said before, having more games doesn't make it a better device.

From personal experience in playing games with both an iPhone and SGSII, SGSII have far better details, more vibrant colors, larger screen to cover less of the screen with your thumbs and runs smoother playing high end games.

Xperia Play is on completely different level with dedicated hardware controls.

I see everyday more and more people taking the "Android vs. iOS" discussions to a higher and higher level; well, almost all of them are making the BIG mistake by having a comparison between A HARD-AND-SOFTWARE OWNER with simply an operating system!!! Apple OWNS the DEVICE AND THE OPERATING SYSTEM! Meanwhile, Android is simply ONLY the OS! Getting a mobile phone to work together hardware and software is a very hard task nowadays! No other mobile devices manufacturer could complete such task, but Apple!

                                        Cheers.
