I love IPS panels from JDI by the way; in a long term basis of use and leaving aside some gimmicks as curved screens (besides their cheaper price, power efficiency for blacks, higher contrast, organic diodes, lighter and thinner panels... all in all those are the advantages I recall) I can't understand why people praise an AM-OLED over a well made IPS or IGZO...

Price is horrible, no amoled, notch, LG again need to rething their flagship strategy, every years just gets worse and worse. Would be decent phone if price would be right, cause LG does not offers anything special with G7 than competition

Still, I prefer LCD because it has better color accuracy (I don't like those oversaturated crap) and better longevity. LCD does have its problems like image retention.

2 things. be like motorola with external snap on batteries. I barely can go 6 hours without charging. Also make an internal HD fm/ am antenna

It's evident that LG & HTC are just arrogant. They know they can't compete with Samsung & Apple and yet they release their devices with similar prices or even more than Samsung's! The G7 is more expensive than an S9.
I'm not speaking for people who know something about phones who are a minority. Most people just want a phone that is popular or looks as good as the popular ones, but priced less. The G7 & new htc u12 & even the Sony xz2 are none of that. That's why Huawei & Xiaomi are selling more phones than them

CONs:
- LG updates are the worst
- battery is kinda small for a 6.1 display
- always on display for IPS display? Useless
- need I say NOtch Buy?! (not into this bs trend only because china brands and their sheeps embrace it)
- also I dislike their UI bleah (but nothing that root can't fix)
All in all it seems an OK-ish phone, just not for me..

Otherwise, they are about 1.5 years ahead. Only problem is that Apple does not allow you to fully take advantage of all that CPU power (with the exception of simple photo/video rendering) because the 2/3GB of RAM bottlenecks the A11. That's why many Android phones outperform the iPhone 8/8+/X in real-life use.
