I don't worry... my old Android 7, 8... I being using a Firewall, and placing on disable backgroud run or start up, and background data. Also removing the storage permission to almost all the apps, and only granting it while using it.

This is about preventing apps from sniffing network packets sent and received by others apps and Android OS itself. In versions prior to Android P, any app can access the TCP/IP stack without needing any permission. Even now, only apps that specifically target Android P will be restricted.

                Too little. Too late.

Shui8, 08 May 2018Lol even my last year Huawei EMUI has this feature. My Y7 Prime today that I've been using still has that feature!
I like it though, as it reduces my addiction on internet.

                        Finally!

And if they would then also let the permission for net activity on any app be user-selectable, it would help further!!! They could channel ALL advertising requests for non paid-apps through a google-ad-service.
It would at the least be better than now. But of course not prevent Google and thus NSA from stealing our data easily.

But I still severely doubt the 'security' of ANY smartphone on Android or Ios.
For the same reason I only let it connect to the WiFi on the OUTside og my HW firewall, not the one on the INside...

Another point to prove that Android, as a whole, is far inferior to iOS and even Windows phones. While Apple and Microsoft restricted everything they could on their mobiles in order to protects their users' privacy and data, Google just made sure that everyone can peep in at everything their users do.

Who even cares for customization and hurr durr interconnected apps that "can do so much together", if the device/OS they're running on is a spying and data collection fest?

                          Android - never again!
                          Google products - never again!!

The biggest of Android trouble is ... Google - adware or malware? Too depth integrated into OS, source of annoying ads, prevent company of using open source project. If the Google ban Huawei, then there'll be Chinese offensive. Maybe we'll get great OS between Android and iOS.

I thought this IS how any OS should be.... really surprising to know that this sort of thing was going on on android !

They sat bringing it to android p.... isay this should have been the case right from android a !!

After long time i remembered my lumia 1020 wp..... and maybe some respect first time for iOS.... frowning at android
