AnonD-695, 04 Sep 2011oh yeah, the qHd and nHD have the same aspect ratio so frag... more680 Mhz is required to run Symbian smoothly.. But if you start running Full HD videos(1080 p), powerful apps etc, you will need much more than that... Hence 1Ghz processor...

i believe Nokia was left behind, but now they are taking some serious actions. ofcourse N9 is the greatest smartphone from Nokia to date. but you have to understand symbians are not for high end markets. it is mid range. Wp7 phones are coming soon with higher specs. SG2 can compete with N9 easily in software wise only. android and meego are both linux. they are great. but meego is full linux but android is java VM ware. HW wise Nokia always wins. one example N9.

Everyone should just relax... Its just a phone. If you ask me if Nokia is good... its AWESOME! Why? They came out with GSM. Be thankful. They make cheap phones, communications should be a necessity these days. No doubt SGS2 and Android are great. But Nokia came out with most things FIRST! just bad marketing. Nokia phones get a lot of updates... the Nokia 5800 is still getting updates after 3 years... Lets see what Samsung can do for their greatest fans... an update or two perhaps? SGS2 is made out of the shelf products... Nokia Flagships... Custom hardware my N8 Carl Zeiss Camera Module. Well... just relax. Its just a phone.

Is true, 680mhz is enough for symbian, too bad the current market does not think so. So nokia had to deliver what the market wanted, a 1ghz powered phone

then you have to understand Nokia is not going to make symbian phones for high end markets. the new released phones are symbian Belle phones. so we have to compare with them to new released androphones. personally i like symbian Belle , coz it looks faster than android on a outdated hardware.

Have you even seen the n9 hands on demo? Same goes with phones running on symbian belle where it can put most single core 1ghz phones to shame

Check how much memory is available to user after a fresh restart and you'll see that it is the UI that is causing the problem. Compare it to the Nexus One running on vanilla gingerbread and you'll see a noticeable difference. Sorry Nokia lost, their market share is just diminishing every day, every minute, I don't see the hype about the N8-01. Even at 1GHz it wouldn't make a difference, since you Nokia fanboys claim that Symbian OS in itself is already efficient it would matter whether if it ran on a 680MHz CPU or a 1GHz cpu. Also I thought you fanboys kept talking about Android fragmentation? ROFL isn't Nokia causing fragmentation by having the N8-01 at qHD? since all of its other devices will run at nHD?

The N9 uses a highly clocked Cortex A8 CPU(~40% faster than the original Galaxy S) Single Core CPU, it uses a WEAKER GPU than the original Galaxy S, has 1GB of ram, but then again the Galaxy S 2 has 1GB of RAM as well, has a smaller screen size, Galaxy S 2 has Super AMOLED PLUS as well. Sorry you fail, you mention that for the price of a Galaxy S II you can purchase an X7 and Nokia 500, but those phones combined doesn't even scratch the Galaxy S 2.

Yeah, well, now that i have Belle running on my N8, i would say it is a really, really good phone but of course it starts to lack the HW power needed to run todays apps. If N8-01 turns out with the specs rumored, i.e. 1,2Ghz Dual Core, 1 GB mem, dedicated GPU, 14Mpx camera, then i'm the first in line for sure!
