Z1 Compact was on the verge with Lollipop, right? - But you could check with XperiFirm and go to xda to find a tutorial and read more about it; I strongly recommend that before you try to flash the device make a full back-up

RejZoR, 09 May 2018But probably no love to even get Oreo on my Xiaomi Mi5...Already roll out, you can try on developer rom

How about Qualcomm start supporting their Soc updates longer so we can update our old devices instead of the same "2 years driver update" that's making all manufacturer updating their phones for only 2 OS update?

Meanwhile my S7 Edge is still on Nougat and even Sony 2016-2017 midranges got Oreo before March 2018.

Though I was hopeful at one point when Google bought Motorola, then released the Moto G line of phones which were getting quicker updates than the Nexus'. As soon as Google sold the brand to Lenovo, the whole Motorola line took a dive in terms of shine and support. And SONY used to be the King of Updates during the days of the Xperia Z2, Z3, Z5... but those glory days are gone. Samsung sucks. HTC has always been a mixed bag. LG is straight up shίt. And you can say that all Chinese branded devices get questionable support.

Best hope seems to be a VERY overpriced Pixel Phone, or a OnePlus device with custom software.

The days of iOS updates being superior to Android is about to come to an end.
Trust me, we'll come to that point one day.
