Mediatek doesn't call these entry-level "Helio".
Even old Helio P10 is an octobre A53 and get better scores on geekbench!
Snapdragon 625/626 have their competitor with Helio P20/25 and newer P23
Snapdragon 630 has Helio P30
This page is a cake!
As mt6763 is Helio P23
Mt6765 is probably P30, and it's octacore, not quad
P40 will probably be 636 competitor. An underclocked P60, with 4 cortex A73 and 4 A53, maybe with a single AI core instead of 2...code name will probably be mt6770 as mt6771 is P60

If the SD660 is equipped with LPDDR4X at maximum speed, though, P60 is still trailing behind due to GPU. It needs Mali-G72MP4 (just 1 more core) to beat Adreno 512.

Internationally we only have the Redmi Note 4 and Note 5 using it.
I think the Redmi 5 Plus in China has one too
But we can ignore that cuz it's the Note 5 itself. Look at it that way and it's just 2 of their phones

Less than 3000 multi core pts on Geekbench with 2.0GHz processor? Maybe the MT6765 will feature a hexa-core CPU, or octa-core with 4x 2.0 GHz + 4x 1.- GHz configuration.

Benchmarks on that chip are higher than this mediatek one. Around 900 on single core and nearly 4800 on multicore, so unless the mediatek is on a smaller die or is somehow way more efficient or cheaper, most would be happier with a 625, even if it's getting repetitive.

QSD 625 is just too powerfull and/or too efficient to be beaten by Mediatek for mid-range class.
Only Helio P60 can compete with QSD 636 at this time.
This P40 is just SD430's equivalent.
