I was about to happy seeing this news, hoping that will be a s8 with small 5.2" screen... but.....
Well i think i just dreaming since most of OEM just launch phone with 5,7" and even more than 6"..

I dont like big phone, just hopefully there are good small sized high end phone that can replace my s8...
Its not a big phone tho, but i love smaller phone (s8 screen ratio with 5.3 inch is perfect)

Not because of Android choice. But because the hardware and the system optimization is far behind Samsung and other rivals. Nokia used to be a technology leader now it is a weak follower. I wish Nokia will have a great comeback with innovative solutions.

              I don't get what is the point at announcing S8 Lite in 2018 when S8 was released in 2017 and in S9 in 2018. Where is the logic here?

                  I think samsung going mad why not sele s8 with discount. Or mybe they have agreement about suport phone security for 2 year and if do not change name the support can not do. Ckckckc. Poor samsung make hard they self.

                      If they price it decent it might be a good choice. But yeah, knowing Samsung it probably won't be so good, but there's still some hope...

                        Hopefully it'll shrink to 5.4in or so. ^^;

                          They will price this at 35000+ in India. Samsung always overprice the c**p out of their devices.

                            Who will buy this over Nokia 7+ which is much better than this device

                              I'm thinking of another major snapdragon 660 phone, the Redmi note 5 Pro, which costs 15k in India, I'd be surprised if the s8 lite costed less than 30k when it eventually launches in India, I can already hear the fanboys going, it'll have a much better camera and build quality and display, and brand value. But frankly I don't think many would pay that much just for that.
                              I'm actually not a Xiaomi fanboy, just that I know value for money when I see it.

They have the same resolution (2280x1080) and Super AMOLED display. The only thing I like this S8 lite is that it uses Snapdragon 660! Very efficient and balanced powered SoC. This is gonna be a hit. (Fingerprint sensor is also S8... So, yeah I gonna accept that)
