I loved the colors on the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, especially the light blue but those colors were on the front bezels, not just the back. I can't get excited about nice colors that are only on the backs of phones as I don't spend much time looking at the back of my phone. Yes, the front bezels are very narrow but if you buy a white Xiaomi Mi Mix 2, the narrow front bezels are white too not black so it is possible.

if they are going to follow apple on the red, they should have also followed about donating some of the sales to RED (HIV) at least it helps the org
