06 September, 2011
Update: US and Romania join the fun, too, as other countries are casting waiting.

AnonD-1906, 07 Sep 2011You dont know what open source mean. Wp7 is a close source ... moreI never said WP7 was open, I didn't even mention it in my post. Did you even read what I said?

As for open source, I think I have a pretty good idea on it, considering I work with Linux daily.

wow I'm going to rush to Mexico to get an N9 , not. I wish Nokia would stop posting stuff, its getting in the way of important smartphone releases by quality smartphone developers. Nokia are fighting but sorry its to late, your still half asleep to the developing ideas that should have been implemented in your phones years ago. like Xerox , they had the idea of the mouse first. but they didn't know what to do with it. sack some key people and get some fresh forward thinkers in to save the company before its to late.

YEss!!!! in definetly getting this one. nope, most mexicans get their phones on plans if tehy cost more than 400USD, i worked at a Telcel center. with iPhone and Blackbery dominating the upper segment and android eating the mid tier, nokia only had a chance here with their dumbphones. the n9 coming to mex only means more competition to the SGS2 (no iphone 5 yet, so). its very well priced on an unlimited plan (240 USD if we take 1USD=12 MXN), so well im thinking of upgrading, but with this, im thinking of waiting still. this christmas im buying 2 , no 3 phones!!! iphone 5 droid prime and n9 XD. and next year maybe sgs3 or nokia wp7 whichever is better...

Then why should Intel support it they will be simply burning their resources putting money and resources in an OS without a manufacturer is ridiculous

Nokia should be blamed for killing MeeGo not Intel

I know, that is not what Nokia says but, c'mon, they are just focus on Windows Mobile.. these phones seem to be just candies to keep people with high expectation...

AnonD-1906, 07 Sep 2011nop am from canadaI would buy the N9 over an Android device because its usability is far more attractive to me than Androids is. And it is exactly because it is open source that that other devices can run it. How are you even making that an argument? Also, half if not more apps on the Android Market are available on iOS. A good amount is also available on other platforms. Yes there are exclusives on all platforms, but most of the everyday apps people use (most, not all) are available across the board for everyone.

As too will it run it smooth? If it's multitasking is any indication to how the OS optimizes and uses its hardware, then yes, it should run smooth. Of course I could be wrong, but so far everything that was shown on it ran smooth.

Just out of curiosity, how many apps require the full power of the dual core Android devices to run smooth?
