Pricey Samsung Galaxy Note hits new highs in benchmarks

06 September, 2011
While the benchmarks scores of this 5.3-inch, dual-core monster are impressive, the pricing isn't.

AnonD-1906, 07 Sep 2011Ok why your iphone dont have mini usb and usb on the go ... moreWhere are u my dear ?

iPhone 4 and iPad support 720p with HDMI cable + u can also use it with Airplay mirroring with help of Apple TV.
no need even wires lol to make 720p mirroring haha.

"mini usb and usb on the go" - most accessories support ipod dock and ipod dock is supported by many music systems . why u need again USB on go ? and another thing is even galaxy tab copied same apple USB cable haha.

TV-out also works with help of HDMI cable .Gorilla glass is on front part of iphone 4 , back part normal glass . iphone 4 has gorilla glass long before any android device. and same month june 2010 galaxy S came with gorilla glass.

IMAX screens ratio = iPhone screen ratio = iPad screen ratio exactly . advantage is u can view both SD videos and HD videos equally well. where as if u have 16:9 screen , ur 4:3 videos go with black bars heavily , including 1080p videos. haha. some music videos come in ratio between 16:9 and 14:9 , so idea of ur 16:9 fails , most podcasts also work with 4:3 SD versions for people with slow connections.

adode pdf = do u ever use iphone ? iBooks application can open books , PDFs .

amoled or higher
720p resolution in the nexus prime.
AMOLED simply so bad , SAMOLED also very very bad .
only SAMOLED plus screen is good only at black levels and colors . in showing "whites" and sharpness retina display still very good. even NOVA display is good almost comparing S-AMOLED plus.

lets see if iphone 5 gets better display.
u are comparing one year old phone to 4 month old phone haha.

get a life please.

That was back then when the iPhone 4 was still new. It was back then when the apps were made for the 3GS and not the iPhone 4. It's been a year now and the apps were already updated to iPhone 4 resolution and it's not upscaling anymore.

Anyway, to those who think this price tag is hefty, you guys got short memories. Remember the SGS 2 fetches around $900-$1000 when it launched? SGS 2 is now down to $600 and the price of this device will drop too. Most Android devices launches with a high price tag but it quickly goes down to much affordable prices.

To those people complaining it's too big then you guys needs to man up. It's not as big as you guys portrays it or maybe you guys just got so used to small screens like on Nokia phones. lol

You must think, read and understand before you comment. It shows that you're not aware of what you're saying, is there something a scaled up from a higher resolution to lower resolution, you mean scaled down? oh i see, next time do it right huh, and prove me that iPhone 4 doesn't run natively on it's resolution. don't speculate, i need proof.

Great Samsung! 800€ for 3,600 points from Quadrant? Awesome! But, sadly I got 4200 points on my SGS2 with a little bit of OC. Your tablet prices are absolute rip-off. I was looking for to buy the GTab 10.1 but, well, the ipad WITH 3G cost less than the GTab WITHOUT 3G. Some sense to the pricing. Agh. If you sell these devices with a price of a regular guy month salary, and then if the screen cracks, you ask for more than a decent computer display price for replacing it, you wont see me buying anything from you! I thought there was one sensible manufacturer, but it seems that you're trying to beat Apple at pricing. Well, you beat them there, if not in everything.

Happy sales, or should I say, disappointment. The tablets aren't worth of a month salary.

I thought that manufacturers learnt their lessons when HP significantly reduced the TouchPad price. But no, it was just me ASSUMING.

Your iphone and ipad dont run at a standard aspect ratio.your iphone 4 dont run 640 x 960 natively it scale up from 320 x 480 all your app on appstore run at 320 x 480.

Anonymous, 07 Sep 2011Stick to the topic, prove that I'm wrong with the one i cla... moreWhat about Nfc you got something to say about that?
(16:9 aspect ratio> so? what for?)
Add one more reason to doubt the iPhone hype: It appears that Apple's uberdevice utilizes a totally proprietary 1.5:1 aspect ratio. While that's wider than the standard square-ish 1.33:1 (4x3) aspect ratio found on older TVs, PC monitors, and iPods, it's 15 percent narrower than the 1.78:1 (16x9) screen dimensions found on most HDTV and DVD programming.
The specs of the iPhone list a pixel count of 480x320. In and of itself, that doesn't prove anything: some displays utilize rectangular pixels, which allows them to deliver a true 16:9 picture. (Older Hitachi plasma panels, for example, have a 1,024x1,024 pixel count, but their rectangular shape delivers a wide-screen image, rather than a perfect square one might infer from the resolution). But examining the photos of the iPhone on Apple's site reveals a nearly perfect 1.5:1 aspect ratio on the device's 3.5-inch screen when it's viewed in landscape mode. (The images below were snagged from Apple's site, and they compare the iPhone to Apple TV, which offers a true wide-screen image of 1.78:1.)
The nonstandard screen shape means that wide-screen content will either need to be zoomed (cutting off the left and right sides) or letterboxed (black bars on the top and bottom) when viewed on the iPhone. Neither option will be as cramped as it is on current iPods, which cut off more when zoomed or have larger letterbox bars. But it might disappoint prospective iPhone owners to learn that the "true video iPod" offers a compromised wide-screen viewing experience.

microsd card slot>built-in memory is good enough for mobile use.
Hdmi port>does all android have this? iPhone has Airplay support, with wireless mirroring, how about that huh?
Tv out>same as above, and hey they have TV out for you info.
Gorilla glass> it's just a plain marketing term, its the same type of glass that used by many phones (reinforced glass)
16:9 aspect ratio> so? what for?
adode flash player> flash is very seldom nowadays, not optimized for mobile, search the web for that.
adode pdf> what? you know nothing, even the iPhone 3G has this.
amoled or higher> you seems you don't know what you're talking about. there's no other smartphone released to date that beats the iPhone resolution (640 x 960 pixels versus 480 x 800 pixels of SGS2 or 540 x 960 of HTC Sensation).
720p resolution in the nexus prime.> it's not yet commercially released.

                                    get some facts boy.

I think if you have everything apple ie, Apple Computer, Apple Ipad and iphone then Apple will work very well for you but i would never get just apple by itself.

I love samsungs Super amoled display, iphone 4 is pretty dull in my opinion.
The apps on android are not completely up to scratch with apple but then again there are more free available so that balances it out.

After being with both apple iphone 3 and 4 and moved to Samsung Galaxy S 2 i have to say Samsung and android all the way
