The 3 toggles in each row of the notification panel is so stupid.
Who are they catering to?
Kids or big finger people or something?
I want Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS , torch, sound mode all in one row.

Having gestures is a joke. Buttons are faster, safer and simpler. The LG V20 has even better solution with it's second screen, because you can switch between apps with one tap.

      Sure it's hot ;)
I don't like gestures, but I can turn that stupid thing off.
+ If I don't like anything that is UI related, I can change it.

Anything, that improves the Android core is more than welcome - better battery life, notifications, Bluetooth management etc.

Well, since until this DP2 release it still unfully supported any custom overlay, plus its messy UI, it's a big NO for me.

Regresessive gsma users get on my nerves.

Android is slow to change but at least it does, gsma users never do.

Had to root my phones/tablets since '12 just to use gestures, it's a million times faster once you get the hang of it. Finally a native feature...

Like literally, gsma users are going to complain for just about anything at this point, even jumps on usability...

Gesture is not from Apple x but Nokia is the one that used it in 2011 in meego os and saifish os in 2013, Android is copying Nokia

It comply with the current idiotism trend: removing basic essential features, and adding unusable gimmicks, ruining everything.

Replacing navigation buttons with gestures is a joke.

Google is out of ideas about what to change in Android, but still want to release new Android version every year to pretend development. Everyone in the tech industry do this. Therefore they change and ruin things that shouldn't be changed, because they are working perfectly, and any change on them make them worse. They change (and ruin things) just for the sake of change, so they can justify the new version of Android. The reason why they want to release new Android version every year is that it will stimulate the consumer's brain, because consumers want changes, even if the changes are bad. If the new phone would not have new Android version because the older one is perfect, less people would buy it because they think there is nothing new in it. So releasing new versions of softwares and adding new useless changes is planned obsolescence.

The desktop Windows is also a good example. Microsoft was desperate because they couldn't resell the same product Nth time again. So they changed their policy and sell Windows 10 as a service instead of a product.

The same happens hardware wise. The technology of smartphones have reached the peak point where there is a little room for further progress. Therefore phone makers focus on design instead and they release curved glass phones, new screen aspect ratio, notch, ... The phone makers pay reviewers to brainwash people so people will care only about the design instead of features and will consider phones as jewelries, status symbols instead of smart, all in one, high tech tools. Of course the new design trend of phones is horrible crap. The manufacturers change the phone's design to much worse, and Google change the Android's user interface to much worse.

There is really no need to launch new mobile OS every year. Without adding any new significant features, there is no point in increasing OS version no every year. Keeping the OS version no same, it's better to update it for 2-3 years & launch new OS later. Earlier, MS used to launch new desktop OS every 3 years but now they have also stopped that with Windows 10. They are now updating their OS every 6 months with new features.

Come on Google do something like microsoft. In Windows 10 the os gets regular updates to the OS instead of introducing new versions.
Its way better than introduce new android os every year.

I don't like the fact that it's becoming more of an iOS. In the past, iOS always followed Android and implemented a year or so later. But this time it's the other way around and i don't like it :(

Well, my issue with Android P is a common one: it's ugly. It has gone far enough from Material Design not to be called such anymore. Looks like iOS or MIUI.

Y7 Prime uses on screen buttons and I ditched my S3 because it was too old TBH. It's useful, but one annoyance is that I have sweaty hands and doesn't respond that easily.
Yes, it's actually useful on 6 inch screen displays because you can't reach the notification bar easily.

Google is running out of ideas as Android matures. So now they just change things for the sake of change.
Luckily, most OEMs won’t care anyway, and it would take 3 to 4 years for Android P to be more commonplace.
