Then (with the interaction and use of smart cars), you phone I'll start giving you "free navigation" to stores where "advertised items" are sold. And I dare say, few years after Amazon (Prime) comes in, your cars I'll actually(AUTOMATICALLY) slow down at "advert signboards" so you can read adverts.

Seriously, phones and computers of today have become the NAGGING PARTNER you never wanted.

There are pop-ups, nags of unwanted updates, ads and what-not. Some of them can't even be turned off, and there are always new ones to replace those that you have muted. There is auto(in)correct that even "corrects" acutal correcty spelled words and replaces them with other, slightly more common words. And there is that unwanted update that you can't even choose when to install, that occurs at the worst time possible.

I want my phone and computer to be passive and not take any initiatives. It should do what I want, not try to bend me to the will of its manufacturer and software providers.

You mean open a browser, log into Gmail and compose a reply there...? What a weird, alien concept... I'm good with doing it in Thunderbird, okthxbai!

I only have a gmail... moreWell, some people still use it for work, and prefer the distance that gives you an email account read in a PC, instead of IM that goes right into your pocket, or lunch, or nap, or playtime with your children, etc.

Ha ha, they can nudge all they want...
I only have a gmail account for e.g. android-market usage, not for mail. I do not even recall how many years ago I looked in their inbox....

...Add: Just got curious. stuff back to 2012 in there *LOL*
