Anonymous, 09 Sep 2011What does apple have against samsung, I mean get over it. T... moreApple has a thing over people who copy their ideas. They sued Meizu previously, as well as other companies. They do go overboard sometimes, but at the end of the day, courts decide.
The same goes with every other company. Companies who infringe and copy are sued all the time, not only by Apple.

Don't. Understand the ban thing. I remember see and get to read news of galaxy tab 10.1 prototype since on Jan. IPAD2 was so secretly and launch with sales on end of first quarter.How to ban a already have prototype surface then the product selling first. And America Obama now rethink assigned new patent rule to who invent first and who selling first. Wow.

Soon Samsung's enemy may bean even closer one, Google.
Leaked internal documents from the Oracle VS Google case indicate Google will start becoming more closed, and favoring Motorola. No wonder Samsung & LG are pissed.
"Do not develop in the open. Instead, make source code available after innovation is complete.
Lead device concept: Give early access to the software to partners who build and distribute devices to our specification (ie, Motorola and Verizon). They get a non-contractual time to market advantage and in return they align to our standard."

The iPhone was not first in everything. To give you benefit of the doubt, let's say iPhone was not first in anything. It did however bring a bunch of technologies together, touchscreen, user interface that created a unique user experience.
The iPhone has just won the JD Power user satisfaction survey yet again. Say what you will about Apple, but they seem to be doing at least some things right.

The only thing it had going for it was a large screen and a smooth UI, and I do give it that. However, everything else about it had already been existent on mobile phones for years. And let's not even mention the basic things it lacked, such as copy/paste, MMS functionality, the inability to forwards messages to multiple recipients, so on and so forth, which, again, had existed on mobile phones for years before the iPhone even came into existence.
Secondly, regarding the shape of the iPhone, I wouldn't call it innovative, for a "rectangular shape with rounded corners" had already been around for a long, long time.
Third, the "functionality" the iPhone provided? No copy/paste, no MMS support, no forwarding of received messages, no forwarding of messages to multiple recipients, no video-recording capabilities, no Bluetooth file exchange, etc. etc. etc. It didn't even have these basic functionalities that other phones provided.
Lastly, the "purpose" of the iPhone: Making phone calls, sending text messages, listening to music, and taking snaps. Same things that all mobile phones had been offering long before its launch.
The only thing Apple did "revolutionize" was inadvertently creating a market of large-touchscreen phones. Other than that, I fail to see what "revolutionary" technology it introduced into the mobile telecommunications market.

I'm always amazed about the fanatism of Apple owners! Grow up, is just a mid-level specs smartphone, raised to the symbol-status by clever marketing.
Yeah, you're right, I do own a SII. You know why? Because I own it, not Apple. I did studied the I4 before getting the SII. Didn't liked the idea of giving money but not beeing able to do whatever I wanted with my phone.

Yes, I have the iPhone 4, but I don't toss off about it, in fact to have an interest in mobile technology you should admire all releases. If there were no competition we'd all still be using Nokia 3310s, so remove that SII from your derrière!
