Microsoft brings a much-needed update to its Surface Hub but it will be available in 2019.

It's a KNOWN FACT that Microsoft takes a LOOOOOOOOOOOONG time to release innovations.
By the way, you are commenting on an article (and my comment) which was dated back last May. It's September 2018 now and there's still no concrete release of this device NOR a stable version of ARM on Windows.
So, no, I'm NOT overthinking this :D

      There much much cheaper alternatives, like a kind of a device with camera that turns any TV set to a touch screen and runs Android OS so basically one can use a TV for everything, browsing the net, presentations, writing on the screen with a stylus, etc. And all that for just a couple of hundreds of dollars plus the cost of a TV set. Microsoft is not in touch with reality. Their hub is simply too expensive for most people or organization who need an affordable solution of a large touch screen.

        However, the platform itself is unstable and still using emulation.
        I guess we have to wait a few more years until they are available.

          BTW, Asus NovaGo has windows on ARM. But to me, I wouldn't pay more for less performance.

                Interesting but only for office uses. Would be great if Microsoft just commercialized it as interactive panel in public spaces like shopping malls, apparel stores or the streets. Seems like a much better ideas instead of keeping this for private usage.
