For pre-2017 batteries, you can expect around 80% battery capacity in 1.5 years. Please keep in mind that 80% battery capacity usually translates to lower than 70% SoT, since the standby power draw and modem power draw is constant. For example, when you had 3400 mAh full capacity, let's assume that 800 mAh got drained by modem or standby. Now, your battery capacity is around 80%, so you have 2720 mAh remaining. Take 800 mAh off that and you have 1920 mAh, compared to 2600 (3400 - 800) before.
Basically, you should have only around 73% of the SoT as before, which is about what you're getting. Not to mention the fact that you now probably have both sim cards on 4G and at least one on VoLTE now, vs both on 2G or 3G before. That drains more battery too.

About Xiaomi, I don't expect any flagship from them till September or October. I can't wait that long, since my OP3 has been used for 2 full years and SoT has fallen from 5.5 hours to 3.5 hours or lesser. Not to mention the broken screen and SD820 choking up on some apps now. It was never a very smooth phone to begin with, but now it's really showing its age( it was and still is very fast though, just not smooth ).

Nougat did wonders for batterylife especially while browsing and idling, so it wld be unfair to judge 3T scores by that. I used to average 6hrs SOT under heavy usage(without gaming) in the early days of Nougat. Now I do about 4 hrs SOT doing the same while also experiencing considerable amount of heating. I do believe there is one major software update remaining for 3T which enables face unlock and all(already in Open Beta builds). So I am planning on performing a hard reset after that.
And I hope Xiaomi wld see reason and bring in atleast one 2018 flagship to India as they r the only one who can offer a better deal than OP in the premium price range.

Athull, 18 May 2018Well if u r going by battery endurance tests of GSMarena th... moreAbout the claim, I'm not wrong. The 3T scores 8:43 hours of web browsing, and 13:23 in video, while the 5 does 10:54 in web and 18:42 in video. The reason 3T does equal in overall rating is due to voice calling, which the 835 was a bit bad at. But it makes it clear that the 835 is the more efficient chip and in usual smartphone usage, it will outperform the 3T in on-screen usage.

I don't see the 2S or the mi7 launching in India. And as I said, the view11 will compete with the 6T. So there's no competition here.

Boldy, 18 May 2018I have a 3, and I have friends with 2, 3T and 5T (one had 5... moreWell if u r going by battery endurance tests of GSMarena then ur claims r wrong. 3T scored overall endurance rating of 83h, 5 scored 83h and 5T scored 82h. So they r practically identical.
Luckily my phone still looks brand new except for battery issues as the case I put on it turned out to be a great protector. But yeah dash charge really is like a slow poison. It's great at the start but comes at a price later on in the phone cycle. My plan is to hold on to this phone till 2019 when the whole notch business goes away for good.
I agree with u though in terms of a pure deal at 35k OP6 is hard to beat especially if it's camera performs as well or better than Honor 10.
I still have hopes of Xiaomi launching one of either Mi7, Mix 2S/3 or Black Shark in India at that price. If they do then it cld finally offer something that can go to to toe with OP in all aspects. Honor V11 still looks some way away but Kirin 980 early benchmarks suggest it's monster so that will be interesting to see too.
And I am greatly interested in the Lenovo Z5 now. If the claims r true then we cld finally see what a true bezeless phone looks like and if it has the specs to match then it will be a great deal. Hopefully it has the effect that original Xiaomi Mix had on the industry making other oems adopt it.

I do wanted a normal 256GB version, I am fan of Marvel but not necessarily like the color/texture they have put. Atleast have could have given us a normal version.

Athull, 17 May 2018Uhh do u even use these phones? I have a 3T, had it since J... moreI have a 3, and I have friends with 2, 3T and 5T (one had 5 as well, but got lost). Well, my phone's endurance was decent and is decent even now. But my friends with 5T get close to 7+ hours SoT which neither the 3 or the 3T got ever. Not to mention the fact that all SD835 phones scored a lot higher than 820 phones in most battery benchmarks(GSMArena, PA, Anandtech testing and so on..).

My oneplus 3 is aging pretty fast. The screen is broken and the battery degradation is getting close to not lasting a full day. I don't see a single phone below 35k that can match the OP6, or even come close. The mi mix 2s will not launch in India from the looks of it, nor will the mi7. Huawei mate series never launched in India and it won't even now. The only hope of a phone competing with the OP6 will be the honor View 11, which might launch maybe 6 months from now and might be better than the OP6. Same can be said about the mi mix 3.

Sorry, but I just don't see a competition in the next 6 months as of now. And if I can wait that long, OP6T will anyway be launched which will compete with those phones, with maybe wireless charging and other flagship features.

we will no get head phones with one plus 6

the tech nerd, 18 May 2018Dude don't wait for under screen fingerprint sensor,i think... moreNevermind I didn't see that the sensor size is now 1/2.6 vs 1/2.8 inch of the old. But it's still someway behind some other flagships with 1/2.3 inch. And the fact that the pixel size is only 1.22 I don't think it will be a match for Pixel or S9 yet but might be a good improvement over old phones.

the tech nerd, 18 May 2018Dude don't wait for under screen fingerprint sensor,i think... moreThat 16MP sensor is a 1.22µm one. 3T, 5 and 5T has a 1.12µm one. So I don't understand what u mean by much bigger sensor?
And ofcse 3T has OIS +EIS unlike 5 and 5T. Sure the aperture allows much more light into 6 but that was the same for 5 and 5T too and we didn't see too much improvement. I would love to be surprised if they did somehow pull off a great camera this time but I won't get my hopes up.

Athull, 17 May 2018Same here. Don't see enough improvements. Camera is still g... moreDude don't wait for under screen fingerprint sensor,i think application of under the screen fingerprint will be done much better by samsung themselves in 2019 with rumor of having a much better ultrasonic one, the sensor on oneplus 6 has ois and also has 18% much bigger size,i do expect much bigger improvement in photos in dark too, kind of not happy you can say about the fact that second camera is going to be used for only portraits and nothing else, I mean a bigger lense is better than two lenses but telephoto lens is better than a lense with same aperture, ultra wide sensor would have been even better
But i feel this phone is still good for price, i mean this phone now looks much better and feels better(shut and hide the notch :p), better camera, flagship processor, other than good speaker and water ip resistance (which i was disappointed by most since it was in leaks that got my hopes high)

It's cheap in India. In my country the base 64gb version will cost $650

Boldy, 17 May 2018OP5 and 5T absolutely destroyed the 3T in battery life, des... moreOh and abt the price, when 3 and 3T came out there was virtually nothing close to it in the Indian market. It was also considerably cheaper than LG, Samsung and Sony rivals. Now there many alternatives. Yes it's not necessarily to 6 but to 5T and 5. But these phones r gonna get their respective 2018 versions soon and launch in the same price bracket. Besides its not as though 6 is considerably better than 5 or 5T apart from the processor which is only fully utilised by power users. And some of the aternatives make up for it with their better cameras and batterylife.
The thing is this year Samsung Launched S9 series without any price hike on previous gen. LG priced G6 and V30 very competitively and u wld expect the same from G7 and V40 when they arrive. So now with every price hike OP is creeping into their territories. And that doesn't hold good for a company that takes pride in being the flagship killer.

Boldy, 17 May 2018OP5 and 5T absolutely destroyed the 3T in battery life, des... moreUhh do u even use these phones? I have a 3T, had it since Jan 2017. One of my close friends have a 5 and another one 5T. Their battery lifes are no better than mine when it was new. The battery endurance on OP phones deteriorates much quicker than normal phones thanks to Dash Charging. If u were to compare a brand new 5T to a used 5 or 3T then 5T wld seem to have much better battery life. But if u were to compare all 3 at the same age then the difference is very minimal.
And ur argument on 835 and 845 being a lot more efficient than 821 isn't entirely correct. Qualcomm usually promises much better performance on a new generation but the same battery draw. 835 and 845 r built on 10nm and their efficiency is similar and even compared to 821 on 14nm it ain't that huge a difference(under normal workloads). Besides the biggest issue at the moment with my 3T is the heating when under heavy load(ala gaming) which then results in the battery draining fast. But this is to be expected considering the age of my phone and the fact that I have been a heavy user. 5, 5T and 6 wld also exhibit similar tendencies if used under the same conditions after a certain age.

I think the price is fair for the specs they are offering. The honor 10 and the Mi mix 2 are technically 2017 devices, since they offer last gen processors. Until the mi mix 2s or the Honor view 11 launches, the OP6 stands un-contested in the 30-35k segment.

For the base variant, 3T cost 30k and the 6 costs 35k. For 2 years that seems to be fine considering inflation and the insane increase in the DRAM and smartphone component pricing.

Camera is still great in daylight but not so great in low light and it doesn't have a secondary cam with any particular function. Hate the notch and the fact that battery is actually smaller than 3T despite larger screen(processor maybe more efficient but it's negated by the screen size). And also hate the fact FP is at the back.
Gonna wait for 6T or 7. Hopefully it will have underscreen FP and do away with the notch by adopting what the Vivo concept device and Lenovo Z5 is abt to do.
Pricing is getting out of hand though(for the flagship at an affordable price deal that they tout). It was 33k for 128GB 3T while it's 40k for the same on 6. Xiaomi Mix and Huawi Honor 10 is giving very compelling deals now at similar price which was not the case back then.

Thinking about buying new bullet earphones, will have to wait for their review, won't buy op6 as my 3T is still running good
