The move may foretell the fact that the company is ready to drop USB-A.

Still not dropping the Lightning end because they'll lose $$$ in royalties. Typical Apple.

Good. Apple its time to RIP all your USB A port devices.
Mac Pro, Mac Mini, IMacs, MBA..

If you fail to update those above products to include t3 or usb-c by the end of this year. Your reason for this lower priced cable will be revealed: You are planning to sell additonal USB-A squids dongles to your poor Mac users!

Its make or break period Apple! Kill USB A ports once and for all!

Sun Sand, 21 May 2018Replacing USB A with "C" was due a couple of years back. ... moreMBA is about to die. The new cheap MacBook will come in fall, finally replacing the MBA. I would not buy it anyways just because of that screen, not to mention the outdated hardware and that design.

Replacing USB A with "C" was due a couple of years back.

High time these guys give up that "Lightning" port and get the truly universal & fabulous "USB C" on all IOS devices now instead of couple of years later,,!

*Well put it on the MBA as well..!
