The WHOLE point of the Z-series is the Mods. If you do not need/want the Mods, you should certainly look elsewhere for better value for money.
The overcharge is BECAUSE the Mods are the only way some of us can get the functionality we desire (e.g. sliding keyboard) - so we have to shell out quite a bit extra compared to phablets with otherwise similar characteristics, as there are no competitors...

They should price this device quite aggressively considering it's competitor Nokia 7 Plus, only then it'll be something a success story.

the battery is its worst and since its curved the durability will be even worse than the plastic. keep in mind i had a moto Z2 Force for about a week, and returned it because the battery was crap and the headphone adapter made a horrible feedback noise.

Not too shabby...i like the reduced bezels compared with previous models. Though the battery is only 3000mAh..the battery mod will compensate for that flaw. In my view it will be a good mid-ranger.

The price of loosing the 3.5mm is way to high just to get an elongated non standard 2:1 display.

And yes they are highly priced, but as no other offers the modular design, they push up the prices heavily, for those of us that wants that...
If you do not need the modularity, you should certainly look elsewhere for more value for money.

I still don't understand lenovo's strategy giving the flagship series a midranger at premium prices since moto mods don't justify it.

This phone with a case and the hiper-holes for camera, fingerprint sensor and mod contacts must looks terrible. It's clear that the purpose of this dated design is sell mods for extra $$$.
