Weekly poll: would you buy an HTC U12+?

27 May 2018
The U12+ has many strengths, but it launched late in the game. Many already upgraded their phone this year, also competing phones got cheaper.

A snapdragon 636 or above should be more than enough for my daily usage.. Had there been a U12 with a midrange SoC and a more pocket-friendly price things would differ

I honestly would...had the battery life been better (well...we'll have to see how it's optimized but 3,500 mAH is like borderline).

The camera looks fantastic, stereo speakers, 6GB RAM, 2K display, and wide angle lens to boot but if the battery isn't that great, there's no point. Also I'm on Sprint and HTC won't stick CDMA on it so there's that.

Already bought an S9, if the HTC just released it earlier i would definitely buy it instead.

The phone is solid in every aspect and i wont get burn with the super screen.
GSM can do without their ongoing negative overture in presenting something with a positive negative. You never do it with anyone else like you do with HTC and it gets noticed.

Ppl complain about LCD but forget that :

                            Laptops are LCD
                            Most TVs are LCD

AnonD-145316, 27 May 2018Wake up!! Nowdays we don't complain about 3.5mm audio hack ... moreToo expensive for what it is. There are better options such as Samsung Galaxy Note 8 & Huawei Mate 10 series.

They both cost around $700 now and both have better cameras and screens.

This device should vost no more than $600.

Would you buy an HTC U12+ ?
                                No.

                                Why?
Expensive. No front-firing stereo loudspeakers. Too fragile. No 3.5mm aux port. Lower battery capacity than expected. Questionable design and build. Too tall. Still using LCD display. Quite poor software support. Less accessories than iPhone/Galaxy.

If I wanted something that shiny, I'd stick to an iPhone X or a Nokia 8 Sirocco. But probably better to grab a Samsung S9+, or a masculine S9 Active if they ever release it for worldwide. Heck, I'd even settle for a ZTE Axon 9 or OnePlus 7 (No notch, No rear-glass, All ports).

Its a beast with many one of the kind features and consistent performance. Why not?

Anonymous, 27 May 2018I would buy if it had 5.5" 16:9 4K Front speakers lik... moreMy XZ Premium does have all of that! Lol

If I didn't have my current phone, I would for sure, HTC phones have always been great and I like the design this time.

no, you can devices with better technical specs all around with more features for the same price or cheaper.
